      I've been out with the dogs on hiking trails with some packed snow as well as some deeper snow. I was amazed there was no slipping even on steeper terrain on hard packed snow. The boots are so comfortable and very warm even below zero. I've only had to use medium thick socks and have never been cold. It hasn't been above 12 degrees since I've had them, so I don't know if they will ever be too hot.

      I love the gator part on top... that was a sweet surprise even after I planned to buy them. The only thing that would be better is if I could cinch the sides a bit more. I'm a size 9, but had to buy size 10 to fit my foot. It is a little bit wide on my thin leg, but not too bad. I had no intention of spending this much for boots, but these are SO worth it and I highly recommend them if you need/want to be outside in the cold.
