I bought this late in the winter to replace an aging winter coat and wished I'd purchased it a couple of months earlier when winter was in full swing.
This adidas Climaproof jacket is warm and very light weight as it is insulated with Primaloft insulation. It's also full featured with a snow skirt that snaps out of the way or is removable if you don't require it, helmet compatible insulated hood, wrist guards with thumb holes to keep out the cold, and a generous number of pockets including two chest pockets, a small pocket on one arm, and internal zipped pocket with media lead and an internal mesh pocket for water bottles or whatever else you may want. The hand warmer pockets have a nice fleece lining.
I purchased an extra-large and it fits well with a generous amount of room for layering, yet does not look frumpy. I have a separate hooded 700 fill down jacket and a separate Primaloft jacket and both fit well under this jacket making it great for the worst of what the region of Canada I live in can throw at me. We had several nights this January that exceeded -30 degrees Celsius with the wind factored in. I have no doubt this jacket, combined with proper layering, will keep me outdoors in these temperatures.
Alone with a Tee shirt it is cozy in moderate below freezing temperatures at moderate activity. I haven't used it yet for winter hiking, snowshoeing or other aerobic activity as I purchased it too late in the season but from what I can tell it is as breathable as I would expect and it is definitely waterproof and windproof as I have worn it in rain and wind without issue.
I am very happy with the purchase as I know I'll be well taken care of next winter.

I wear this jacket every day whether I am in the city to and from work, or outdoors recreationally. It is a very comfortable jacket, keeps out the wind, is waterproof, warm...I feel very happy with this purchase. The zipper tends to jam when I begin to zip up the jacket, which is my only complaint...but there's a trick to it so I'm getting better a working it through. I bought it during a bonus sale so I feel I got a great value for the cost.
