This shoe is great, I got it for hiking and also use it to bike in when it's raining/wet outside. Since the shoe is waterproof (AWESOME!) and windproof it's great for biking if you are not clipping into your pedals. With my rain pants pulled just over the top of the shoe i'm totally waterproof on the bike and hiking as long as you don't step in water deeper than the top of the shoe. The shoe seems really solid and the traction for hiking is excellent. A very solid shoe that seems like it can take a good beating. It's also a very light shoe for how solid it is.

All in all great value as I got them as the item of the week. Took them out on an overnight backpacking trip/hike up Big Agnes and had no trouble after only wearing them to work a few days beforehand. Very comfortable, require hardly any breaking in. No blisters after my trip, though there was a little pain in my arches due to support I'm not usually accustomed to with flat feet. Even at [$] bucks, they stayed dry so long as I didn't submerge the entire shoe (obviously) and the traction while bouldering and climbing was great. All in all a great value, though I've read some reviews about lack of durability in the lace loops which I've yet to encounter yet. I'll update once I put them through a few more trips.

MAKE SURE YOU SIZE DOWN!! Nice shoe for the price. Didn't get to hike in it because it was too big and we were going on a hike to camp Muir this weekend. So, opted for a pair of high top, Gortex, Asolo's. Better choise anyway. Nice shoe though. Great value here on REI Outlet.
