Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Phantom WINDSTOPPER Soft-Shell Convertible Bike Jacket - Men's:
My son bike commutes three time a week to his part time job and for 2/3 of the year he is traveling to work in the dark.
For his birthday I wanted to get him a highly visible, waterproof (Portland, Or) jacket.
He has a tall, slim athletic build and the jacket fits him the best of any he tried on.
The removable sleeves make afternoon warm commutes
comfortable.
This was the most expensive jacket we looked at, but well worth it.
I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for quality, visibility and rain protecion.

Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Phantom WINDSTOPPER Soft-Shell Convertible Bike Jacket - Men's:
I had been looking for a bike jacket for chilly mornings in Southern California, when I would ride my bike to commute to work. After viewing all the selection REI has, I had not been able to find anything I liked, until when I spotted this jacket made by GORE at my local REI store.
The one I bought was black. I had to go an extra size larger (L) that my normal size (M), since Ifound my normal size M was too tight. Size L fits me perfectly.
I think the black colored jacket is more proper for office settings versus the other types with more bright colors, if you are commuting to work like I do.
Too bad that I found REI discontinued the black colored ones at this time.
I only wish it could have some pockets on the sides. Other than that, I found the quality of the jacket is superb. 5 stars!

I love this jacket...except, when I sweat in it, it gets damp and doesnt seem to breathe as well as I thought a Gore product would.

Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Phantom WINDSTOPPER Soft-Shell Convertible Bike Jacket - Men's:
This jacket fits very well. I can wear a thin undershirt, a lightweight jersey underneath perfectly without bulk or excess flapping fabric. I at 160 lb and 5-8. I really love the way it looks and wind stopper is a great fabric. I have ridden at 35 degrees and was comfortable.
Expensive but worth it in terms of look and functionality.

Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Phantom WINDSTOPPER Soft-Shell Convertible Bike Jacket - Men's:
I've been using this jacket for a couple weeks now for both road and mountain biking and am incredibly satisfied with the product. Its construction is well-thought out and makes it versatile for a variety of temperatures.
Some of the highlights:
-You can easily remove and store the sleeves in the back pockets or just zip open the sleeve/armpit area slightly for additional breathability.
-Very breathable, helped by the fact that WINDSTOPPER fabric is only integrated where needed (i.e. not on the back of the jacket).
-Comfortable
-Lightweight
-Good looking
All in all I am very happy with the product and highly recommend it.
As a disclaimer, I am affiliated with Gore for product testing of Gore-tex products for the purpose of product review and recommendation. I do receive items from Gore for these purposes, though this item I purchased on my own.
