Showers Pass Elite 2.1 Bike Jacket - Men's is rated 4.4286 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for rowing I purchased this jacket primarily for rowing and bicycling. Normally I find any goretex jacket gets wet and clammy inside when I'm doing max heart rate activities. This one lives up to the hype and lets my steam right out - you can see it. It's a little short in the front for a tall individual but that means no bunching when biking or rowing. The sleeves are a perfect length. The pit zips were an important feature for me versus the other eVent coats to allow some extra ventilation and reduce how often the jacket will need washing. Only improvement I would suggest is adding a small tucked-away hood that can be pulled out as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome cycling jacket. I commute to work on a daily basis and before this jacket I always wore bulky layers that just restricted my movement. Based on reviews I purchased the jacket and haven't regretted my decision. I've worn the jacket from 25-70 degrees F. It keeps all the rain and wind out and with a good base layer you can cycle in some really cold weather. In the Sacramento climate the morning to afternoon temperature can change close to 40 degrees so this jacket is perfect for all day rides. My arms do get a little warm so I wish there were arm vents in addition to the great pit zips but I've never seen that anywhere else so I can't complain. If you ride more than recreationally I suggest you buy this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally. Dry while rowing in the rain So, on the recommendation of a friend, I bought this jacket for competitive rowing in addition to the occasional bike ride. The slim fit works great for both rowing and biking. Low wind resistance for bike riding, and although wind resistance usually is not a problem when rowing, the lack of bulk makes rowing far easier, as does the long tail. The jacket works very well. My clothes stay dry even in the rain and getting splashed. The jacket also vents very well and I don't overheat even when working hard. The cinches on the waist and neck do what they are designed to do - keep out the weather, and in the case of rowing keep the tail off the tracks. The sleeves are a bit long, but that is a bonus for me as it stops the sleeves from riding up while leaning forward. Totally pleased with this item!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the clams I bought this jacket for my fiance as a gift after the zipper broke on an older version of the jacket (REI would have repaired it but I went for an upgrade instead). Two days after I got it for him, he crashed and tumbled on the pavement. He expected the elbow to be completely ripped out, but the jacket totally took the beating with HARDLY a scuff. It was amazing! I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. He uses it to bike to work any day that it's rainy and he loves how breathable it is, while keeping him dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I am a year round all weather cyclist and thought this jacket was going to be my last. I assumed it did, but this jacket has no side pockets. Sorry, but I need those. It makes me angry that someone would market a high end jacket without side pockets. This jacket would be a real hassle as there is no place to put gloves, hat, etc. Also, be aware the size is off (medium is actually quite small). I am normally a medium / large. An XL fit my chest but the sleeves were way too long. The jacket should also have an integrated hood, but I knew that when I bought it. The pull cord to tighten the collar around one's neck does not have much range. Going to return this jacket and never even used it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Like This Jacket! I've worn it kayaking in northern British Columbia in July 2013. Even though the mornings started out cool and the afternoons were quite warm I found the Showers Pass Elite 2.1 to be very comfortable. Haven't worn it biking or in rain as yet, but it seems to be well constructed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Failed zipper I wore this jacket for about five years. It was comfortable, fit well, kept the rain out, and breathed well. I kept the huge pit zips open all the time, even in pouring rain, yet I never got wet. It is a well designed jacket. That is until the main zipper started to fail. First I noticed wet spots on my shirt in the front. They gradually got bigger. Then I noticed the zipper fabric was actually starting to fray. I work in a facility where we can test the jacket for water incursion (a paddling sport garment manufacturer). As I suspected, the zipper wasn't keeping the water out any more. The final straw was when the zipper slider broke. I called Shower's Pass, and they told me they don't repair their garments, and the best they could do for me is to give me a discount on a new Showers Pass jacket. I gladly would have paid to have it repaired. It's a shame that it's destined for land fill. I gave it an average rating because though the garment is an excellent design, the company's failure to provide reasonable customer service leaves me feeling it's no better than any of the low budget jackets sold by other companies. The bottom line; I don't feel it's worth the money. I'm disappointed Showers Pass.
