      I bought this as an emergency starter to have in a day pack. It weighs about the same as a flint & striker and it has the tinders stowed in it. I bought just the tinders a while back and used them with a traditional flint & striker and they light up easy and burn plenty long. The striker built in seems to make plenty of spark too but have not needed to try it with a tinder yet.

      This is a good product. It only allows for 4 wax tinders and no space for more. It is heavy for what it's purpose and there are better ones on the market. I would not recommend this to a friend. I will keep it as a backup to my other strikers.
