Addicted to speed-filled, big-mountain runs? Burton Driver-X boots provide superior response and comfort to hard-charging riders.

    • Not stiff enough? Add torque to the tongues with Rider Adjustable Flex tongue inserts: they personalize forward flex, increasing both response and boot life
    • Firm-flexing, thin-profile, 3D molded tongues wrap the shins, ankles and insteps in comfort, offer a seamless flex and reduce performance-robbing shell/liner stack-up
    • Snow-proof internal gussets on boot tongues completely seal lower boot zones to keep feet warm and dry
    • Streamlined Speed Zone™ shell lacing lets you fine-tune the upper and lower zones in seconds; this system offers powerful rebound, wrap and response with minimal effort
    • To make entry and exit easy, Burton added a pull loop on the tongue as well as a lace pull tab that releases both the upper and lower zones simultaneously
    • Imprint™ 3X liners with Focus Cuffs ride high on the ankles for increased agility and response; liners have rip-and-stick closures, ankle-hugging J-bars and lace locks
    • Liners provide a consistent flex over time and slide on and off feet easily; precurved ankle panels reduce lace pressure on front of legs
    • Molded EVA footbeds with a supportive shank lessen the blow of hardpack landings; antimicrobial coating fights odors
    • Vibram® EcoStep™ outsoles are made with recycled rubber and backed by nearly 70 years of mountaineering knowledge for superior traction, feel and light weight
    • B3 gel heel inserts provide ultimate damping and are formulated to withstand repeated impacts without breaking down
    • Dual-density grippy rubber spikes dig into ice to help prevent slippage when off your board; durable toe material helps binding toe straps stay in place
    • Shrinkage™ technology reduces boot's overall footprint by 1 full size, minimizing boot overhang, bulk and weight

Average weight specification is per pair, based on size 9.

Comments about Burton Driver-X Snowboard Boots - 2012/2013:

I've been riding for almost 20 years. Spend most of my time on the steeps, in the trees, and going fast. I like maximum response and these boots deliver. I've got about 6 days on them so far. After a few hours of getting used to the feel, the boots became intuitive and did everything I asked of them. The speed zone lacing is quick, easy, and great for adjustability.

This is the first time I'm using the Driver X - they're not quite as stiff as I imagined they'd be, but I don't notice much, if any, loss of response.

The only minor hitch worth mentioning is the fit of the liner - I have somewhat narrow feet (in a size 11.5 boot) and it seems that there is some cinching going on with the way the liner tongue interfaces with the rest of the liner when the boot is tightened. I felt some pressure points on the top of my foot as a result when I made the boots really tight. I loosened them up a bit and the pressure points went away without any loss of fit, so maybe they were just too tight.

They work well with cartel bindings on my NS raptor.

Comments about Burton Driver-X Snowboard Boots - 2012/2013:

I had been riding 2001 Burton Driver boots (for 11 years!) and I was very pleased with their stiffness and durability. I decieded to give these a try and, not surprisingly, I was impressed. If you install the included tongue stiffeners in the boots, these babies ride like hard boots with the comfort of soft ones. The first day I rode with these, my rear toestrap snapped off on the second run. I rode the whole rest of the day without it and didn't notice a difference! These boots are perfect for someone who likes turn-on-a-dime control. I ride a lot of steep, off-trail, glades, and moguls and these boots are perfect for me. I wouldn't try to do anything in the park though.
