I did not know what to expect from these shoes. I am a nurse and wore these shoes for the first time for 12+ hours at work. I was hesitant to do this, but I took a gamble against the break-in the-shoe rule. I am glad to report that the shoes were very comfortable. I can say that they are my favorite shoes to wear every day now. I will be buying a second pair so that I can alternate using them.

The pro's to this new shoe design:
- Great Keen fit.
- Big improvement on the shoe sole. Older designs would delaminate, this design appears to be much more durable.
- Extra cushion without feeling every pebble.
- Good looking shoe for those wearing them everyday to work.
The con's:
- The KeenDry in this shoe (GoreTex equiv.) is a bit obnoxious. It sounds like you put bubble wrap in your shoes when you walk. People look at you funny. Not good Keen.
- The KeenDry waterproof membrane (in any model) tends to restrict airflow to the point that the shoe temperatures rise. This causes the shoe to be hot to wear to work or on sunny dry days. Sure, it "rains every day in Seattle", but on the non-stereotypical days that it does not, the shoes are a little warm.
In the end, I hope the shoes quiet down with use. The fit is great and the shoes look and support the foot well. I wish Keen would not spec low-cut shoes like this with the waterproof membrane, leave that for the taller boots.

I got these shoes right before the big storm season in Salt Lake. I use public transit to get to work, and no matter how much snow, slush or water, my socks were still dry as can be when I got to work. I absolutely love these shoes and can't wait till the spring comes to take them on the trail.

Bought these shoes to have something other than light athletic shoes to use on trail and in the snow. After three weeks, they have become my favorite every day, go anywhere, do anything shoe. Perfect for hiking and scrambling on a recent trip to Kauai: very comfortable, light and provided great support and traction.
