Warmth is a pro and a con because until i got used to wearing a hardshell with some insulative value i wore too much underneath. Overall this coat is fantastic, it operates as a top notch hardshell, but provides a good amount of insulation. I didn't think i would use the balacalava, but it turns out to be a great bonus tucked away. The pit zips do not vent as well as the hem to bicep pit zip that is so genious with the OR rain jackets, but enough, and you can still acces inside pockets with a pack on. Finally powder skirts are a must droping the knee in deep pow, but it is a bonus to remove it just don't loose it.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
