      Comments about Osprey Axis Daypack:

I was looking for a bag that could become my new everyday bag (5 days/week to work plus 1-2 nights/week to school) that could also attach to the Osprey Porter bag. The Daylite is designed to attach to the Porter, but it's not big enough to also be my everyday bag. This bag is, as my friend would say, bigger on the inside. It is less than half the size of the bag I was carrying before and hold everything much better.

The laptop sleeve fits either my 15" laptop or my ipad (in otterbox). The document pocket is perfect for holding my notepad and loose papers and keeps them from being destroyed.

The one small pocket on the top has enough pockets to keep my small things organized including a clip for my flash drive.

The two side pockets are definitely on the small side and at first I was disappointed that I couldn't carry my 32 oz nalgene, but I realized I don't really need to carry something that big to work where I can refill a smaller bottle easily. My 14 oz fits perfectly in one pocket and I use the other for chargers. If I take this hiking, I can place my camelbak bladder into the laptop pocket and run the tube out through the port in the back that can also accommodate headphone wires (there's a mesh pocket to hold an mp3 player).

Now, connecting it to the Porter. This was important for me, and this bag isn't specifically designed for connecting like the Daylite. However, it's really easy to attach the Axis instead. The waist strap has triglides that can slide into the 2 lower D rings on the Porter (just like you would connect the Daylite). On the top, I used 2 lightweight carabiners (like the kind you use as a keychain) to connect two loops near the small top pocket on the Axis to the 2 upper D rings on the Porter. Alternatively, you can use on carabiner to attach the top loop of the Axis to the top loop of the Porter, but I like the 2 loop method better, it feels more secure.

Basically, I'm really happy with this bag.
