The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Goldcoast The Classic Floater Bamboo Longboard:
This was my first longboard. This is a good board for cruising and pumping if you ride on completely flat surfaces. Also, it is constructed pretty well. It comes complete with the standard GoldCoast brand trucks and wheels, which may be a deal-breaker for some more serious/advanced riders, but GoldCoast is pretty responsible about delivering a good product for the price. Besides, it wouldn't make much sense to buy a board with all the expensive bells and whistles if you're just starting out like me. All in all, it's a good beginner board.
HOWEVER, if you live in a hilly place, you would probably be better off with a board with less flex. This board is SOOOOOOO flexy due to the fact that it's made out of bamboo (the environmentally responsible construction was attractive to me, but it almost bottomed out when I stood in the middle of the deck). That extreme flexibility is good for cruising, but it makes for an unsteady ride when you're doing anything else, especially downhill or carving. I ultimately decided to return the board to REI because I live on a mountain with very few flat areas, and I learned the painful way that I needed something with some more stability.
Overall, it's a good beginner board for the price, but it didn't work for me in terms of riding style. My advice is that you research for a while and, more importantly, talk to people who know longboards before buying.
Service and delivery comments:
There were some complications surrounding getting the right board, but REI worked everything out. Also, the nose of the board was a little banged up when I got it, but I figured that it wouldn't matter with the abuse that I would be subjecting it to.
