A great performer in stormy weather, the REI Havenpass Earflap cap with eVent™ fabric has earflaps that fold down for added protection from the cold.

eVent fabric has a unique membrane that allows sweat vapor to escape to the outside of the fabric in 1 easy step
No matter how hard you work, overheating is highly unlikely due to this Direct Venting™ technology
PrimaLoft® insulation in the crown and earflaps keeps your head warm; it's also water resistant and quick drying
Polyester microfleece lining wicks moisture away and dries quickly
Baseball-style cap with a shaped, stiffened brim channels rain away from your face and shields your eyes from sun; brim is 2.625 in. long
Bungee with cordlock lets you adjust the fit of the cap

Excellent casual winter hat. Fold down ear muffs increase it's useful temperature range.. But sizing is inconsistent. My head measures 56cms, I tried on 4 or 5 of them in the store, all marked "S/M" and they ranged from super tight to super loose. Eventually I found one that fit well, but buying one on line would be totally hit or miss.

This cap seems to be exactly what it promises to be. It's warm and waterproof, but unless you're working hard enough to sweat a lot, it's breathability keeps you dry inside.

The earflaps work well, but there's no way to secure them down. Even in a good wind, they still provide more coverage than a typical knit cap, so this is not much of an issue.

As you can tell from the photos, it's not the most stylish piece of kit, but do you want to be fashionable, or warm and dry?

Ordered online because Size L/XL said it would fit 7 7/8 head. Not even able to put it on without a headache so returned the hat. Too bad because it was what I was looking for just not big enough.

I was looking for a winter hat with a brim to block falling rain/snow from my eyes. This does it! and the adjustable cord in the back pulls the flap close to the ears for a great fit! They ear flap will stay in place. The fleece lining is cozy and breaths. The L/XL fit me well with a 23 inch head. Great product.

Saw this hat in the clearance bin at REI, the fit was real good for my head, toasty warm feeling(in the store), and thought I'd give it a try. Seriously glad I got it, too. It's been through a few storms now and it preforms exactly the way I would've hoped, and even exceeds that because of the way the ear-flaps not only keep your ears warm but when you pull the bungee/cordloc tight it, literally cups around the ears,hugs my neck, and keeps my melon comfy,toasty warm. Love this hat!! Definitely be buying another one as a spare for some time in the future. Warning: be prepared for,"Out huntin' wascully wabbits, are ya'?", from your friends. Then they ALL say what a cool lid it is once they start to really look at it. Another great REI product!!
