        I use this jacket mainly for running, and it works well at keeping the rain off and it's very comfortable and has a good fit and style. A cold wind will slice through it, but I suppose that's to be expected as it's a lightweight, breathable jacket. If it's real cold (around freezing) be sure to wear something warm underneath. I found breathable long sleeve workout shirts work well, and after a couple miles you'll be warm as toast. Overall I like the jacket, when I wear this one out, I'll buy another just like it.

          Bought the Torpedo jacket at the REI Fairfax store...Absolutely LOVE it!!! I couldn't make up my mind between this and the Salomon Jacket, and the salesperson at the store gave me excellent advice...The Salomon jacket would have kept me warmer(thicker), but heavier, and interestingly cheaper....The Torpedo is lightweight, and somehow keeps the warmth intact because it breathes via wicking material, but retains my warmth generated from my body heat.... I would buy it again in a heartbeat!!

          I had this jacket about a month. And used it mostly for running as the weather has gotten colder in the NW. Would recommend it if your body puts off a lot of heat. If you tend to be a bit on the cooler side then you should look for something a little heaver. I've worn it on a several runs with temps from 38 to 50 degrees and in the lower temps its a little cool at first but perfect after 5 minutes of running when my body warms up. On cooler days I usually wear a long sleeve shirt with it and works out great.
