Comments about 686 Smarty Original Cargo 3-in-1 Insulated Pants - Men's:
I bought these to go snowboarding in Colorado this last season. I absolutely loved them. they were warm in low teen temps with high wind advisories, and waterproof in deep powder. They seem very durable and have plenty of pockets to store snacks/gear. I cant think of any issues with them. I did not try them without the liner but Im sure they would still be great pants for warm spring days as well.

Comments about 686 Smarty Original Cargo 3-in-1 Insulated Pants - Men's:
I wear a 32/30 jean size (probably a true 31) and so i ordered the medium pants in the "short" size thinking they'd be perfect with a belt. the medium pants seem to be about a 33-34 waist and 32 length and were huge on me, even with a belt. I wore them once and went back to REI to exchange them. of course, they returned them no problem, I got the Small size, and they fit perfect.
the legs are ~2 inches less in diameter so they're not as baggy and only about 30-31 length so they're not as long. the waist is around a 31 and these fit comfortable with no belt, but i'd wear a belt while skiing
