Comments about The North Face Allegheny +40 Sleeping Bag - 2011 Closeout:

This bag is very comfortable, and may be zipped with another identical bag to allow couples to share warmth.
We used two bags combined on a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains. The temperatures were in the low thirties and we froze. This bag is not rated for said temperatures, however, so that is not a con.

    Good three-season bag.

I needed something small but worked well to fit in the hatch of a sea kayak,,, this did it.

Comments about The North Face Allegheny +40 Sleeping Bag - 2011 Closeout:

Love this bag. Bought two of them upon returning two mummy bags that the wife and I couldn't get use to. These bags are great. My wife is 5'4" 130 and I am 6'"2" 275. So we got the long bags in order to zip together.

We just got back from 10 nights camping where night temps went down to 33 degrees and we were never cold zipped together or separately.

Great bags, nice and roomy for a big guy like me and still small and light enough to pack in your backpack.

Comments about The North Face Allegheny +40 Sleeping Bag - 2011 Closeout:

I am a big guy and had purchased the REI Lumen mummy bag long and sleeping in that thing was about as comfortable as water boarding. I returned it and decided to replace it with this bag - this bag is the BOMB. Roomy, warm and comfy even packs down small enough to take it backpacking and the long is really nice as you can slide down in at and keep your head covered.

My wife who is a tiny thing got one as well so we could zip them together and the bags worked great in both settings.

I used this bag for 10 nights in Yellowstone and the Tetons when low temps went down to 34 and NEVER got cold.

Love these bags - they are a steal at this price and are worth EVERY penny.

Comments about The North Face Allegheny +40 Sleeping Bag - 2011 Closeout:

I was given this bag (older) when I helped with Katrina clean up. The bag is well made and I have zipped two together. The bag is not compact enough for backpacking. The bag has withstood moderate use and looks new.
