I bought this monocular to carry in my backpack. I've got a pair of 6-20 binoculars that have served me well but the Echo is one third the size and is more powerful. I can read a license plate on a stationary car about 100 yards away. The limiting factor is how steady you can hold it. It has a threaded hole to attach to a camera mount. It could easily serve as a spotting scope for target shooting. It comes with a carry case that has a belt loop and is secured in that case by a hook and loop flap. There's also a lens cap!
