As my first review, I would like to review the North Face meru gore bib pants. These are great pants to ware in any winter conditions. They are super breathable so you are not sweating underneath them which is dangerous and if you happen to fall in the snow, these pants have the new flash dry fabric! This fabric works miracles.

I was up at Berthoud Pass outside of Winter Park in Colorado, it was a three day snow camping trip and the conditions were not ideal, very cloudy, snowing constantly with very little visibility. I was splitboarding and decided to still move forward with the trip. I climed about 2000 ft the first day just to get a feel for the area. Once I felt I was high enough I put my board together and bombed down. Because I couldn't see anything I crashed in 50in of fresh snow,best fall ever! I got snow every where and it was melting fast. I felt the wetness in my bib and hoped that the flash dry would do its job and it did, amazing fabric, it felt like seconds as I was moving down the mountain that my bib was as dry as if I just pulled it out of the dryer! Ridiculous! Needless to say I spent the next three days riding fresh lines and feeling warm and safe with this bib. Also, just to note, the lowest temp during the day was 5 degrees, at night -15.

The only thing that needs to be looked at in this bib is the built in gaiters. They work great, but they ride up on my boot a lot and in 50 inches of fresh snow, it can become a hassle riding u and letting snow into your boot. I ride with the scarpa Inverno boot, and a strap that can hook into the gaiters and around the boot would work just fine, easy fix, but I spent almost 300 dollars on these pants, they should come with straps for the gaiters, at least.

Other then that, these pants rock! I recommend them to any one that is doing any type of mountaineering, These pants work. I have yet to do any Ice climbing in them yet but I am sure they will work out great!
