Comments about Deuter Futura Pro 38 Pack - 2011 Closeout:
Perfect overnight to weekend pack. I do like to pack light in general to my buddies, but this pack feels great and I could add 10-15 pounds and not notice it. Hip belt is great for my 5'10" frame. Comfort is key to me and this pack is a Cadillac for that. Some say the Egg McMuffins of packs. My only problem with the pack is the lower pouch zipper is tough to get to when pack is full due the lip over hang to protect the zipper. Really not that big of an issue. I only use that zipper 5 times in a weekend at most. Color is great to me. I like a bright pack in case of emergency. Not the lightest on the market, but give me the 8oz for the comfort. Deuter is always top notch and this pack is a homerun for me.

Comments about Deuter Futura Pro 38 Pack - 2011 Closeout:
I am using this backpack every day to carry my lunch and computer, plus other miscellaneous items, and even after five years, it barely shows in terms of wear.
I use it mostly for bicycle commuting, however it's size makes it perfect for up to one-week trips to e.g. conferences, especially via airplane, since it's perfectly sized to fit into the overhead compartments of most airplanes, both on domestic and international flights, making getting in and out of the airport a breeze.
In addition to the two main compartments, it also has one inner and one outer compartment in the lid, two zippered ones on the sides, another one on the outside, and if push comes to shove, there are two outer mesh pockets that can hold bottles or - an extra pair of shoes (at least up to size 14!).
With the compression straps, I can get the weight close to my body for climbing or running. The only drawback comes from the very well designed and ergonomic mesh back cooling system, which makes the inside shape curved, and which limits the space available when putting more than one 3 inch binder in - but I am guessing this is not what most people use a backpack for anyway...
Highly recommended!
