    I purchased this jacket for my 6 year old. She definitely stays warm! She found a down feather that had slipped out and was quite interested in the fact that that was what is inside the jacket (hence the subject line on this review!). She has worn it to school and on a couple hikes so far, and no complaints! Though sometimes she gets too warm!

      My oldest daughter has worn this style jacket since she was 2 years old, and we keep coming back for the next size each year. It has kept her warm in cold, windy conditions that would have really limited our outdoor play time had the jacket not been built for just such play. It is rugged; we have climbed on rocks, slid down hills in the snow, rolled in the mud, hiked through thickets. One jacket carried us through two years of winter fun and was looking a bit ragged by the end but was still going strong. It is soft and warm, but isn't so "poofy" as to restrict movement. It also dries quickly, super important for more rounds of fun after warming up by the fireplace. Just bought the next size up for her and a toddler version for her younger brother (her original toddler jacket has been dug out of a bin for younger brother's twin sister, and it's in great shape!). Highly recommend this jacket if you spend time really digging into winter with small children!
