I was looking for a down layer to wear under a hardshell for extra warmth while skiing or around town as an everyday winter jacket and the Sierra Designs gnar hoody was the perfect piece! I was amazed at how light it could be and still be so warm. The 800 fill goose down is incredibly warm and comfy while not giving that over poofy look that is hard to layer. I love the addition of a hood and have found it unexpectedly great as a mini pillow behind my head while driving.

My only negative feedback is that the hood is a bit big and can't be cinched down at all and that the zipper pulls are a bit small to use while wearing gloves. Otherwise I love everything about this jacket and bet you will to!
