by fromcomfortable until... I had seen another man in dance class wearing them; he said they were great, and I thought that if I ever have the chance to acquire some, I will. When REI had a special on them, I purchased very quickly. As is true with any mail-order product, I put them on as soon as I could get them out of the box. I was very excited! First, I wriggled my feet/toes into the 5-fingered socks that I had simultaneously purchased from REI.(I ALWAYS wear socks with my sandals; of special note is that during my 1400mile/2200km Trans-Texas Bicycle Odyssey 11JUN-08JUL2001, my exclusive footgear were Shimano sandals, and I never had any problems with them!) Walking around home with them on, I quickly became aware that, despite everything else fitting snugly, both my big toes were being squeezed. I expected some adjustment, but when walking after an hour or so, the pain became intolerable. I couldn't wait to get them off and check to see if I needed to trim my toenails--I have had ingrown toenails for several decades, but have developed coping strategies that enable me to walk rather blissfully. In fact, the last time I couldn't walk due to toenail squeeze was in JasperBC-Canada, where I had purchased too small new leather shoes at a thrift store; not only was my toe squeezed, but my feet were scrunched, causing me to remove them and walk back to my bike campsite! I think this could be a wonderful, wonderful foot covering IF less pressure is exerted upon my big toes. I'll try to rectify that by returning the size 44, replacing them with a size 47. Should the replacements be satisfactory, I'll certainly revise this review!

by fromThumbs up and fun These are fun shoes. Injuries ended my running days, but I like how they give you the barefoot feel and the way the shoes retrain your walking stride and posture. They are also excellent for improving balance as I can feel my toes grip on the Bosu ball. My caveat so far would be to be carefull on sizing. They go about two or three sizes less than my cycling shoes. Mine may be a touch tight in the big toe. They are a bit tricky to put on. You need to train the toes to go into the correct sleeves. Also limit how long you wear them per day as you break them in. Probably not for everyone, but I like them

by fromThe color is better than it looks These are very grey, so the color is great. I wear a 12-13 shoe. 45s were slightly to small. The sizing guide is pretty flawed. Awesome shoes if you don't normally wear shoes.

by fromGood Shoe - just check the stitching These are my 5th pair of 5 fingers. Overall I'm very satisfied with them. There are plenty of reviews on the 5 Fingers line of shoes so instead of repeating the typical pros & cons ad nauseum I'm going to just list my observations concerning the KSO TrekSport: - If you are used to the regular KSO's these can run a bit smaller, especially in the big toe. One size larger than a regular KSO was a tad too roomy but worked for me, especially with a thin Injini sock. - The tread lugs are worth it over the KSO's for on-the-trail hiking or running on rugged surfaces like rocks. - My ONE big issue I found is that of a manufacturing snafu. I was wearing them for a couple miles when one of my two arches started to feel a rubbing discomfort not too much unlike a small pebble in the arch. Upon observation and comparison with the right shoe I found that my left shoe was stitched without overlapping the material on the side. Therefore the exposed stitching was rubbing against the bottom of my arch. They are great minimalist shoe but this is a significant quality control issue for a product like this. REI is very good with customer satisfaction so I'm heading back to see (and hope) they still have some in my size to replace them with. I've taken pictures of both shoes with a reference to the area which needs to be addressed by Vibram quality control.

by fromQuick feet You got to love the pain. I'm two weeks in with running in these things and my calf muscles are screaming. It's good though 'cause I know I'm building up strength. I did the recommended prerequisites to strengthen my ankles and calves before running in them. I even started with a short run to work my way in to them. The result however was I needed to ice down my legs and was sore the whole week afterwords. The main issue for me was that I was a heel strike runner and in these things you instantly become a mid foot strike runner. I am suffering more because I am now running with correct form and it is worth the pain curve. The biggest change I noticed was that these things force you to stay light on your feet which translates in to an overall increase in your running speed. Also although the specs say you can run on trails, I would watch out for trials with lose rocks as you will feel them. Overall I think they are great, I'm looking forward to my next run and six months from now to see the results of my change in running form. Thanks for reading.

by fromThe most comfortable Vibrams i own I own Vibram KSO, and Vibram Speed shoes. The Kso fit well, they are comfortable but on pavement and off road you feel too much. they start to hurt in the sole after a bit. The Vibram speed strangle my toes, i cant wear toe sock with these. Buttt, Ahh,these trek sports are the very best, the material is flexible, they don't strangle toes.they feel good on pavement or any where. It almost feels like you have socks with soles on. These are now my favorite. So much so that i just went to REI and bought another pair off the clearance rack. They are out of them online. I wear size 13 shoe and in Vibrams size 47.
