Comments about Patagonia Snowshot Shell Jacket - Men's:
I generally need a Large, which ends up being too big, but Medium is usually too small. This Medium is almost a perfect fit, with sleeves that are actually long enough. Only had a month of cold weather after I bought it, so not much time yet, but fits very well, great wind protection, and water proof (haven't tried that yet). The hood is the best attempt I've seen at making an adjustable hood so it doesn't hang in front of your face and block your vision.
Overall, I would buy again...on clearance. Regular price of all this stuff is pretty outrageous.

Jacket runs big. I normally wear a size large but after trying on both sizes I opted for the medium.

First two days out were snowy conditions skiing in NY. Performed perfectly.

Comments about Patagonia Snowshot Shell Jacket - Men's:
For me, roughly $200 was a lot to pay for a shell that requires additional layers to stay warm. It turned out to be one of the best purchases I have made for my ski wardrobe! I absolutely love the functionality and style of this jacket. I received multiple compliments, even on the color which at first I thought was a bit on the bright side for my liking. I am definitely easy for my friends to find which is always a plus when skiing in large groups.
I have only skied 3 days in it so far, ranging from 10-35 degrees, so I can't really comment on it's long term durability. However I did ski through trees and brushed the sleeves up against what looked like thorns or sharp branches and the jacket did not show any signs of tearing. I was pretty shocked to find the sleeves in perfect condition. For 10 degree conditions I recommend at least mid-weight base layer and some type of mid to heavy weight fleece or mid-layer. For 10-20 degrees my favorite combination is the Patagonia capilene 3 baselayer long sleeve covered by the REI Heavyweight Polartec Power Dry Zip-T. When it got up around 30-35 degrees, I substituted the baselayer for a lighter weight one and used the same mid layer and was very comfortable. The large pit zips allow for temperature regulation and include 2 zippers each, allowing you to pick exactly how high or low you wish to make the vent. I found that venting lower allows airflow through quicker, since that's the part that catches the most direct wind when skiing and on the lift.
The H2No coating resists all moisture. Water beads right off and it seems to resist stains as well. It also does a great job of resisting wind.
Size runs quite big. I am 5'11" 180lbs and the medium fits very comfortable, slightly on the loose side with longer sleeves, but I prefer that type of fit. I tend to be right between a medium and large for nearly every piece of clothing (which is extremely annoying), so the fact that the medium fit me perfectly was a big deciding factor. I absolutely love this jacket and hope to get many years of use out of it.

Comments about Patagonia Snowshot Shell Jacket - Men's:
Definitely needed to get a size smaller than normal. Fit is described as relaxed; relaxed as in if your sleeping on a sofa you would be okay to get your size, if you actually want to ski then a smaller size will keep you safe. The snow skirt is minimal, but there is one, and it's all you'll need even in the steepest of pow shots.
Color is intense, but you won't miss it, and this season it seems that everyone's sporting toxic colors, blue jackets with orange pants, etc. Go with the flow!

Comments about Patagonia Snowshot Shell Jacket - Men's:
Used in temps from 25-35 F, not too hot or too cold. Even had to use the hood during a brief snowfall with ease of use and good visibility. The color is great-different but not too "out there."

Comments about Patagonia Snowshot Shell Jacket - Men's:
The jacket is lightweight and comfortable. Unfortunately, you sacrifice the warmth for lightweight. I would recommend a number of base layers for those cold days. I'm looking forward to using it for spring skiing.
