Comments about Salomon Momentum III Soft-Shell Jacket - Men's:
I use this jacket for cross country skiing and running.
The front is a soft shell material. The back of the torso and backs of the arms are much more breathable and stretchy. It'd have been nice if these areas were the same color as the front but I suppose that would have been difficult. It's also a matter of personal preference.
Some people may consider the sleeves to be long but I think they're great. I find it highly annoying to have sleeves ride up when I'm reaching for something... Or double-poling. Other models, even by Salomon, have shorter sleeves.
I stand over six feet tall and weigh about 180 lbs. The large fits me smartly. My previous jacket by another manufacturer is a horrible sagging bag in comparison.
I'm concerned that Salomon may not be continuing this particular style, which would be a shame.
Goes well with the fantastic Momentum full-zip pants.
The only downside I can think of is that this was designed as a ski jacket so obviously for cooler weather. The relatively wind proof sleeve fronts make for slightly damp crooks of the arms since there's little arm flexing at the elbows when running. Very minor observation and not an issue when skiing.
Rain and snow bead up on the facing material but I wouldn't call it waterproof. Ran for an hour in the rain today and didn't mind it.
Great product and I hope I can buy one again if it ever wears out (which it's showing no signs of doing).
Feels true to size
Feels true to length
