Comments about Salomon Swift Midlayer Hoodie - Men's:
When I purchased this I had no idea how well designed it was. It has the thumb holes, which is pretty standard now days, but it also has built in finger hoodies, that snap down to the inside of the sleeve when not in use. I picked this up for running and I like that I don't have to remember to wear a hat or gloves because it is all there if need be. It keeps me toasty warm in 30F runs. I imagine it will perform well in lower temps too. It has mesh in the armpits for venting, and a zippered pocket on the back for gels and such.

Comments about Salomon Swift Midlayer Hoodie - Men's:
I love getting into hoodies after a good workout and this one definitely fits the bill. It keeps me warm and it keeps me good looking. The fit is a little formed, but that's good for warmth and looks. The built-in finger mitten pockets are great! Though I would have rated it 5 stars if it had a pouch in the front. Don't get me wrong, the rear pouch is great for running and I'm getting used to it.

Comments about Salomon Swift Midlayer Hoodie - Men's:
I have had this now for about a month and have used it on a few runs that have been in the teens and bike sessions that were in the single digits. Every time I have been very pleased with how it performed. It fits well, breathes well, and regulates temperature really well. All i had on underneath the jacket was a thing long sleeve athletic shirt and I was plenty warm. Now I do tend to warm up a lot when I exercise in the winter. But I have been really please with this jacket and have not found anything that I do not like.

Comments about Salomon Swift Midlayer Hoodie - Men's:
Product is cut to narrow for average person. I tried on several associated Salomon products and all seem to be designed to fit the taller thinner runner; unfortunately not my body type.

Comments about Salomon Swift Midlayer Hoodie - Men's:
I don't run or exercise nearly as often as I should, but I love buying things and when I saw that this was on sale I drove to the nearest REI and bought it. I love this jacket! The fold out finger covers are warm and breathable. The thumb hole keeps the jacket tight, although as expected, the thumbs do get a bit cold. The hoodie stays right in place and keeps my ears warm while I run. Inside of the back pouch has a smaller pouch built in; I keep my keys in their to keep from bouncing around. The front pouch is perfect for my phone and has a small hole to run a headphone jack through. It's fleece lined, so you stay warm, but it's still very breathable. My favorite feature is just how form fitting it is. It's been about 38 degrees the past few weeks and I've thrown this on over a t-shirt to and have been comfortable running errands.

Comments about Salomon Swift Midlayer Hoodie - Men's:
I purchased the swift midlayer hoodie to use for trail running for the coldest part of the season. I've tested it out in weather in the 20s and 30s and in freezing rain/sleet. So far, I'm quite pleased with the hoodie's performance.
It has several nice features that I've found helpful. The sleeves are cut long with both thumb holes and a hole to view a (left wrist worn) watch. Finger covers unsnap from within the sleeve to provide a bit of protection when gloves might not be necessary. The zippered left breast pocket is hand for a cell phone. A large zippered lumbar pocket is good for a dog leash or your favorite mid-run energy boost.
The hoodie is cut on the tight side though the fabric is stretchy enough so that it is quite comfortable. The tighter fit means that things in the pockets don't bounce around. The torso length is also cut on the long side - a nice feature for those of us who are long-waisted. The long cut ensures that you won't expose skin between shorts and shirt if bending over or climbing.
The hoodie's material is mid-weight and will provide plenty of protection against the cold for almost any winter weather I can expect in the mid-Atlantic region. The inside feels soft and fleecy against the skin. The material wicks quite well and dries rapidly while on the run. Remaining moisture dries quickly when hung up after a run. Even though I ran in temperatures that were on the warm side for me, the hoodie never felt soggy or leaden. Even in a light cold rain, the hoodie didn't become saturated nor did I ever feel chilled.
It's cut tightly enough so that it would be easy to put a light shell over top for extra protection in the coldest, windy weather. Adding a wind/water resistant shell would keep you toasty in most wintry conditions.
This is a solid piece of running gear that I will look forward to using in the coldest parts of the winter.
