Comments about Tifosi Mast Interchangeable Sunglasses - 2011 Closeout:
I've gone through multiple interchangeable systems and these Tifosi glasses at the sale price are the best value and highest quality I've owned. These Tifosis include 3 interchangeable lenses (gray, red and clear), a clamshell case, and a soft microfiber sleeve.
Changing the lenses takes but 20 seconds once you're familiar with how to remove and pop new lenses in. The clamshell case provides two sets of built in pockets to hold the unused lenses.
The polycarbonate lenses offer good scratch resistance. I use them cycling, snowboarding (when it's not too cold or windy) and driving. The clear lenses are perfect for night time riding, the red tint lenses are great for dusk or dawn, the smoke gray lenses offer UV protection on a sunny day.
A single pair of lenses for any of Nike's interchangeable systems cost more than the Tifosi glasses with three sets of lenses! Yes the Nikes were more stylish, and sold about a dozen different tints for their lenses, but they're many times the price they're worth. After two years, Nike also stopped carrying the lenses, leaving you to scour the interwebs for replacement lenses. My Mountain Equipment Coop glasses were inexpensive but poorly constructed, not durable, badly designed and prone to scratching. In fairness, they cost next to nothing so I treat them like they're disposable after a season.
The Tifosi are better quality than the Nikes I owned. After factoring in the price of the sunglasses with 3 sets of lenses and a clamshell case, the Tifosis cost an seventh that of the Nikes and are comparable in price to the MEC sunglasses.
