        I like to wear skirts and dresses year-round but dread cold weather because most tights are really uncomfortable and don't insulate. Then I got the bright idea of trying long underwear bottoms and found these, which are surprisingly cute (I got the purple stripe and solid burgundy and they provide a nice touch of color). Also, I'm a recent convert to merino and love this fabric. So far I've worn them under lightweight skirts in 50 degree weather and my legs have been plenty toasty. I'm sure they'd also work great for aerobic activities in colder weather.

        My only complaint is that they don't come in different lengths. I'm 5'4" and have to roll the bottom cuff under, but I'm sure it's noticeable to no one except myself.
