Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ampato Rain Jacket - Men's - 2011 Closeout:

This Jacket is Dry AND it breathes...
This is better than any laminate and Gortex. I have used it hiking, fishing, skiing, and walking the dog. It fits great and it is stylish enough if you are concerned about walking around town. I wear it with a t-shirt and there is enough room to wear it as a Shell in cold weather.

This thing has kept me dry in every condition.

I did pack this jacket on a trip to SE Asia just to test and see if that exteme heat and humidity...NO!! Just get an umbrella like everyone else.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ampato Rain Jacket - Men's - 2011 Closeout:

I will use the coat mainly for wet weather here in Oregon, between the car and whereveer I'm going or for casual wear as a light jacket in slightly cooler weather, rain or shine.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ampato Rain Jacket - Men's - 2011 Closeout:

I wear this jacket practically everyday, or at least pack it with me, because Seattle is a bit damp. I have been more than impressed. This jacket exudes quality in every way.

Previous jackets would get clammy inside, or get damp in heavy rain. Not so with this jacket. Rain beads up on the surface and can be simply shaken off, even in very heavy rain. No dampness ever permeates, nor does the interior get clammy. The jacket is incredibly breathable for being so waterproof. The fabric is amazing.

The fit is trim enough to look good for city use, but is also loose enough to allow plenty of movement and/or light layering. Sleeves are actually long enough and the cuff closure is easy to use The tail of the jacket is slightly longer, perfect for keeping you dry (and decent) on a bike, or keeping rain off your butt (especially if you wear a shoulder bag). Plus, pit zips, lined handwarmer pockets, lined chest pocket perfect for cell phone, and interior large mesh pocket for sunglasses, etc... This jacket is the perfect all-around rain protection for any [Northwest] city dweller, hiker, cycle commuter, or what have you.

Highly, highly recommended. I don't often get excited about rain jackets but this one is a bargain at any price.
