Rated1out of5byBoundary waters camperfromNot RecommendedThe reviews under this jacket are for older models and do not reflect this jacket. I have been happy with past Timber Mountain jackets.
The liner sleeves do not secure tightly to the shell and pull through when my son puts it on. There liner is thinner than my 100 fleece pullover and is of very poor quality. It pilled badly after a month of use. I don't know why REI can't use Polartec in more clothing. Shell is good quality and stylish in my opinion. I don't know why they had to blow it so bad with the liner. I would prefer to see some kind of insulation in the hood too. We spend time outdoors in sub zero whether and need a warm hood at times. Ordered a North Face from another retailer - can't wait for it to come so I can return this jacket.

Rated4out of5byHiking DadfromGreat Fit, Sleek, VersatileWhen I originally submitted a review, I could've sworn I tried my son in the XXS size and believe it was way too big for him, even accounting for the fact that he'll be able to grown into the jacket. Maybe I bought the wrong size before or my kid just went through a growth spurt, but I find that XXS size to be just right for him, and has generous (but not uncomfortable) room for him to wear the jacket for 2-2.5 years. I like the look and the layering.

Rated4out of5byHiking DadfromToo big for 4 year-old boyMy son is four and is of average height and weight. I bought a 4T jacket and was too big for him. I also discovered that his REI winter jacket from last year (3T) still fit him.

Rated5out of5byDoctaDavefromGreat winter sports and leisure jacketperfect for my 9 y/o daughter who tends to need warmer clothes. Kept her warm on 10 degree ski day and great for 30 degree snowy walks and going around town. Says it's for boys but she picked it out and loves it.

Rated5out of5bycamper77fromKeeps him warm while skiing. My little guy wears this jacket on the ski hill, he seems to be pretty comfortable in it. He has the matching pants as well. The fake fur on the hood is a little silly, we took it of and are unlikely to ever put it back on.

Rated4out of5byJbpruettfromGood ShowBought this for my son and the girl version for my daughter. They like them thus far. I got them a little big so they will be able to hopefully get two winters out of them.

Rated5out of5bydstationfromFUR IS REMOVABLE!My 10 year old son fell in love with this jacket but really didn't like the fur on the hood, fortunatly we were in the store and noticed the fur can be easily zipped off. Easy solution that should be stated in the description of the item online.
