A boy stays warm and dry in the adaptable REI Timber Mountain 3-in-1 jacket. This hooded parka's zip-out fleece liner jacket allows him to customize it to match the weather.

  • Durable shell is constructed with wind- and water-resistant coated textured nylon; removable liner jacket is made of soft, warm polyester fleece
  • Fleece liner jacket zips out, providing 3 levels of warmth: he can wear just the liner, just the shell, or both for maximum warmth and protection
  • External stormflap with rip-and-stick fasteners helps block wind and rain from sneaking through the zipper; chin guard eliminates abrasion
  • 3-panel hood with removable fur trim features adjustable rip-and-stick tab, extended bill and elastic around sides of face to keep weather out
  • Elastic cuffs with rip-and-stick adjustments keep out wind and snow
  • Shell has zippered hand pockets with comfy tricot lining, a zippered chest pocket and a zippered inner left chest pocket with earphone port
  • Metal eyelet in left handwarmer pocket flap provides a secure attachment point for a lift ticket or ski pass
  • Polyester fleece liner jacket features zippered, tricot-lined hand pockets to warm chilly digits

        perfect for my 9 y/o daughter who tends to need warmer clothes. Kept her warm on 10 degree ski day and great for 30 degree snowy walks and going around town. Says it's for boys but she picked it out and loves it.

          My little guy wears this jacket on the ski hill, he seems to be pretty comfortable in it. He has the matching pants as well. The fake fur on the hood is a little silly, we took it of and are unlikely to ever put it back on.

              My 10 year old son fell in love with this jacket but really didn't like the fur on the hood, fortunatly we were in the store and noticed the fur can be easily zipped off. Easy solution that should be stated in the description of the item online.

              I've been buying this jacket for my son for years now; but didn't like seeing the fur on this years model. After reading another review about the fur being difficult to clean/maintain I was ready to look for another jacket. But the product discription listed the fur as removable; and upon receiving the jacket I can confirm that the fur is attached by a zipper to the front edge of the hood and is fully removable.

              Another fine kids product from REI.

                With the weather changing here by the hour it's very nice to have a Jacket with built-in layers. My 6 year old has no problem removing/reinstalling the fleece layer when he's too hot or too cold. I do not care too much for the fur around the hood but my son loves it. Overall a really quality product.

                I've been a loyal customer and devoted fan of REI products, especially their kids colthing. My sons have worn REI like a uniform during summer and winter outings since they were 2. But this winter's fashion I cannot do. Sorry. Had to go with shell gear from Outdoor Research. Even with the pro deal it cost twice what REI would have cost me.

                I have bought my kids the timber mountain jacket for the past four years. I bought the Jackets because we live in ALASKA. They use great water shedding materials, and are warm. However, I will NOT be purchasing them this year. For some reason, REI decided to change the hood and add fake fur. In snow, fake fur accumulates snow clumps and wetness. That's no fun on the sledding hill! I liked that the previous model of the jacket was easy to clean; just toss in the washer with a bit of tech wash. The fake fur on this year's model makes the jacket difficult to wash, and if washed incorrectly, ruins the fake fur making it look worse than it already does, and attract even more snow. Overall, this was poor product idea. Take the fur off next year's mode!

                Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
