Comments about Mountain Hardwear Trad Pack - 2010 Closeout:
I actually don't use this for climbing, but it's great for hiking on the trail. I got it because it's SO hard for me to find a pack that fits my 6'1", 155lb frame. Like another reviewer, read a review saying it seemed to be built for my size, and it seems it was. Like a glove.
Everything else about the pack I'd say is above average but not exceptional. Some minor wear at some seams after a few uses but nothing too bad. Open/close works well. Padding feels great against the shoulders. Front pocket is long and wide but shallow - I keep my maps and tent footprint in there to slide out as a sit surface when needed; you could fit a rain jacket in there if the rest of the pack weren't full. Gets my back pretty wet after a long hike but that's a price I'm willing to pay for a pack that hugs me that well, and thus feels great to carry.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Trad Pack - 2010 Closeout:
On a warm weekend this January, I went to the Gila for a 3day weekend backpacking getaway. In this awesome little pack I was able to carry one change of clothes, my REI Quarterdome T2 tent (fly, stakes, and tent), cookpot & MSR Whisperlite Universal stove + 20oz gas bottle, MSR MiniWorks EX filter, and a Platypus 3L reservoir inside the MH pack. Plus snacks, lights & headlamp, camera, etc. in the top.
Strapped my REI Lumen 25F bag and Prolite Plus pad on the outside, and I was set for the entire 3day weekend. My gf packed the food.
I like the form and fit of it across the shoulders and at the waist, as well. It seems thoughtfully made in every respect, except for maybe venting of the backpanel, which ain't great.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Trad Pack - 2010 Closeout:
I actually bought this pack after another user said it seemed like it was designed for a "6'tall 120 lb man" to which I thought "Hey, that's me!" I have been very pleased with this pack so far. The frame sheet holds loads nicely and transfers weight to your hips with no problem. The top loading 40 liters is very efficient with space (I have taken this pack for overnight trips). Also, the pack is highly water resistant (dry gear after 2 hours of rain!). However, the other review regarding the build of this pack is true: if you are a skinny person it will fit great. if that describes you, buy it! A very versatile pack!

Great pack, lots of options for pockets and lashings. Straps inside pockets as well as outside lets you get the size just right. I don't know what the gal was talking about in the previous review saying the size doesn't fit, I'm 6'0 and 190 and it fits with ease. My favorite is that with the straps this can be small and tight, or expanded to fit just about everything needed for days out.

I recently ordered this pack and have used it on several day hikes and one overnight adventure. The pack is an ideal size if you are doing a comfort driven day hike with your significant other and also works well for a minimalist overnighter.
I agree with the other comment that the zippers do stick slightly, however it is a small price to pay for all of the great features of this pack.
The last comment that I had was regarding the fit. Some of the other reviewers seemed to have some trouble in this area, however I had no problems with a S/M at 5'9" 140 lbs.

You cant beat the price for this great pack! Tons of compression straps to cinch down your load for a light day hike or fill it to the brim for an overnight. You can throw this pack around and it wont bust on you, very strong. Also a seperate hydration compartment makes refilling painless. I use the pack mainly for day hikes and hunting.
Im 6 foot 3 225 and I havnt experienced any issues with the hip belt. A beefier one would be nice but your not going to see one on a 38L pack. In my opinion fits snug and comfortable.

This pack rules. It is the perfect size for an overnighter or even a two day hike. I cant get enough of this thing. My only complaint is the zippers snag a bit at first, but once you break them in, they are just fine.

The pack is good quality but the padded portions of the shoulder straps are pretty short. The hipbelt padding barely makes it to my hipbones. I am an average sized woman and not overweight. This review is for the M/L pack. I'm sure glad I didn't order the S/M!
It seems like it's sized for a 6'tall 120lb man.
