I had been searching for a good fit soft shell for ice climbing for a while and this one is my best pick. I also liked OR's Alibi but Alibi fits too bulky and short for me. I am 5'7" 125lb with a climber build arms and shoulders. Super Hero jacket has a much slimmer fit. I tried both S and M and found M fits better with a bit relaxed fit cross the shoulder. I absolutely love the long and lean cut and the blue color is striking. Used it for a 3 days ice climbing trip. When it was just above freezing temperature, I layered it over a mid weight Patagonia merino wool zip neck. When temp dipped under freezing with strong wind, I added an extra layer of smartwool long sleeve underwear and was comfortable when climbing. The routes were quite web and the jacket is very water resistant and block all wind. The hood fits over my climbing helmet closely without restrict movement. I often forgot I still have the hood on. Got it during REI weekly special and the deal was almost unreal.

I wear this jacket almost everyday. It is great for blocking wind and the underarm gussets are extremely breathable. The jacket is composed of many different materials to be water resistant in a light sprinkle and extremely breathable on the back for carrying a backpack. I love the hood and will most likely never take it off. It's not bulky like I thought from reading other reviews and completely detaches from the jacket if its not your thing. The only downfall I found was the collar and sleeves aren't tight to my wrist and neck. I wish they were slightly more fitted. If I wear a fleece underneath it is perfect for colder conditions. The wrist have adjustable bands, but I would rather see a more fitted sleeve included. Other than that an overall great jacket!!
