The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Ortlieb Bike-Shopper QL2 Single Pannier:
Love keeping all my stuff dry, and not having a backpack messing up my back. Silicon lube is kind of gross at first. I find the size to be more than adequate. If I could put any more in it my rack would probably break.

Comments about Ortlieb Bike-Shopper QL2 Single Pannier:
I wanted to love this thing. It has the QL2 system, which is basically a very sophisticated way to adjust on your bike without tools. They look cool. The straps are comfy on the shoulders when lengthened, and easy to carry in hand when shortened.
But at the end of the day, this pannier holds significantly less volume than the "Backroller Classic". So you're basically paying twice as much for the QL2 system, when all you need to do with the older system is just use a hex tool-- ONCE, and you're done.
And the other feature of the Shopper is a ziplock feature, but again it's not needed, since the Backroller Classic folds over tightly, insuring water-proof-ness.
It also has some nice inner pockets and they go on and off the bike with ease, but the other Ortleibs do too. The Backroller Classic even has shoulder straps that are arguably easier to deal with, because you secure them with hooks on the outside of the bag, instead of manually shortening them.
I took mine back to REI and got the Backroller Classic. I mean, this is called the "Shopper", but if the Classic is nearly identical but holds more groceries, why would you buy the "Shopper"?
But don't get me wrong, if you want a smaller bag and some great innovative features, this is a great product. But if you want more room for less buck, get the Backroller Classic.

Comments about Ortlieb Bike-Shopper QL2 Single Pannier:
Ortlieb's product descriptions are vague, even on their site, so I'll try to clear up some confusion here. I am buying this to replace my ten-year old Ortlieb panniers that were stolen. The company has significantly innovated their product since then, for the better in every way I can see.
This bag is awesome. It's big and roomy, yet collapses and folds down if desired. The QL2 system refers to the ease with which it is ingeniously and effortlessly mounted and removed from the bike. It is customizable to the point of surely fitting any bike rack you have.
It has some nice inner pockets and some very well crafted handles. I am considering exchanging it for the Back Roller just because my laptop bag fits in it slightly better, but overall the Shopper makes more sense for this city commuter, so I am undecided.
I got the black which has a leather look to it and a nice shiny silver Ortlieb logo on it. They're pretty slick.
Ortlieb makes a lot of little accessories for their panniers not available at REI or elsewhere. I recommend you check out their site for things like steel wire loops that act as theft deterrents (emphasis on the word deterrent). But buy the bags from REI, because their service and terms are unbeatable, not to mention they have are a do-gooder company!
How does this bag differ from other Ortlieb bags? it's almost identical to the Ortlieb "back roller classic". In fact they are the same liter-by-liter. The main differences are the shopper has a high quality ziplock seal at the top of each bag, and it is more of wide mouth shape, while the back rollers have the odd fold-over style closure. The wide-mouth shape will be nice for shopping, but I find that with my laptop bag inside the Shopper, I can only seal the zip with great effort. As an REI member I do have the peace of mind of knowing I can return the bag if this zipper malfunctions due to this stress. However, I'll probably just leave it unzipped unless in bad weather.
I may post pictures and updates in a while. I hope this review helps you make your choice!
