Comments about Kryptonite KryptoLok Series 2 U-Lock with 4' Flex Cable:
I use this on a 700c Xtracycle (long tail).
The 4 ft flex cable is just long enough to loop through my rear tire (on an Xtracycle the rear wheel is back 15" further than most bikes), wienough length to get it to the U Lock which i usually have securing my front wheel through the downtube, and to some stationary pole or other secure object.
If I'm only running in and out of a place, and it's a generally safe neighborhood, i'll usually just use the U lock on the frame and to an object. But if i'm unsure, i'll make sure to secure both wheels as well.
Kryptonite uses two kinds of brackets. The flex frame bracket is much more versatile, and i recommend it. I've mounted it to seat stays, pannier racks, and it is very solid.
I love this lock. It gives me peace of mind when I make a 2AM grocery run in a bad neighborhood, or if I've got to leave my bike parked overnight downtown at my place of employment. With my old cable/combination lock , I'd constantly want to check on my bike as I knew it wasn't nearly as secure. With this lock, I no longer do that.

Comments about Kryptonite KryptoLok Series 2 U-Lock with 4' Flex Cable:
I use this for my hybrid bike for occasional rides around the city near my home. The mount for the u-lock was a bit tricky trying to find a place it would fit on the frame with the u-lock in it. It ended up on the shaft for the seat post with the lock sitting along the left side of the rear wheel. The end sticks out a little bit, but is still flat enough that my foot doesn't hit it when pedaling. The cable has a velcro strap that's long enough to wrap it around your handlebar when riding.
Overall, this is a great deterrent. There is no evidence that anyone has ever tried to steal my bike. However, my bike wasn't expensive/fancy, I only lock it up in well-lit public areas, and I never leave it overnight. If you don't fall under those conditions, I'd get 2 u-locks instead because the steel cable won't help against thieves with bolt cutters.
I really wish a lock manufacturer would make a 2 u-lock set with both locks using the same key. I couldn't find 2 u-locks keyed the same which is why I bought this one.
In addition, it comes in handy on my RV to keep anyone from trying to steal my propane bottles. I can lock them to the hitch.

These are both easy to use and lock up but I wish the u lock was a little longer but they are both very durable and seem pretty theft proof thus far.

Comments about Kryptonite KryptoLok Series 2 U-Lock with 4' Flex Cable:
I live in Austin TX and there are a fair number of people who deserve some colorful adjectives to describe them that steal bikes. So one who commutes via bicycle needs a great lock. This is that lock. I've left my bike locked up downtown over night, and it remained. There are gouges in the plastic covering on the lock and cable from where people tried to cut through it, but failed. Unless the thieves have cutting torches and can avoid getting caught (not likely) they can get through it, but the random [*] who drive by with bolt cutters and a pick-up planning to hop out, cut the lock, and be off with your bike are in for a rude awakening when they encounter this bad boy. Buy it, and take it with you everwhere.I will note that the mount for this lock is a bit of a pain in the butt. this is made doubly irritating on my bike b/c the frame is so small that the lock won't mount right in the middle. the mount had to be cocked off to the side, but its compensated by the lock which has a swivley thing that goes into the mount itself. This isn't much of a drawback in the greater scheme of things since you'll still have your bike, but it does get a bit irritating when I'm trying to get the lock off the mount. It sticks a bit. *shrug* needless to say you need this lock.
