After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about Marin Point Reyes Hybrid Bike - 2010 Overstock:

Bought this for my wife after much research looking for a fast lightweight bike that could handle rails to trails environment as well as asphalt yet equipped with a flat bar. All the components are great quality considering the close out pricing we got. Much better quality components than other brand name bikes in similar pricepoints. Very fast and smooth ride with the carbon forks and with spot on accurate shifting. The handle bars were way too wide for a female rider so I trimmed them down 2 1/8" total - bringing them to a normal 580 mm total length. Now they are just right. I regripped them with better grips and bar ends and swapped the stock platform pedals out for some Shimano A530 clipless units. Now I can barely keep up with her and I ride a much more expensive XT component custom bike! Overall a great value and a great platform that with a little customizing makes for a killer ride!
