Comments about Perception Carolina 12.0 Kayak:
This is my 3rd kayak. My 2nd one was a 12Carolina also that got stolen. I love this kayak. I have been to Demo's and tried others but still pick this as my choice. I go kayaking every weekend somewhere different along the coast of CT and RI (ocean, lakes and rivers). I just wish it was a little lighter (being 50lbs) it gets heavy after 5+ miles of kayaking.

Comments about Perception Carolina 12.0 Kayak:
I have a Perception Eclipse 17' sea kayak that I love. I was looking for a 12-13' day boat for smaller rivers, the quick trip to the lake, or for paddles in faster moving waters like River
Bend park on the Potomac River. The Carolina 12 was the perfect choice. It tracks exceptionally well for a 12' boat, but still nimble for tight turns and close quarters. I am 6'/200# and the 2.5 cockpit is easy in and out. To get the front storage, the bulkhead would limit leg room for someone much over 6' tall. Otherwise the cockpit is roomy. Perception hit a home run with the seat. The adjustable back can go high or low for comfort. The ample deck lashing gives lots of external storage. I am very happy with the Carolina 12.

Comments about Perception Carolina 12.0 Kayak:
I got this to replace a shorter, more maneuverable kayak. I like the fact that I gained a bow storage compartment and lost several inches of beam making it easier to paddle. It still has an easy, casual cockpit layout and tracks well for being only twelve feet. Although it has the mount for a rudder, I can't imagine needing it unless you find yourself out on open water with a stiff breeze across the beam. Did I mention that it tracks well considering it's only twelve feet? Wish it had a bottle holder between the legs and a secure ring to lock it to a car rack. I bought and installed a nice stainless steel ring with rubber sealing to do just that.
