I purchased this as a layer for under a Gore-tex shell and as a quick go to warmer jacket when layering isn't necessary. It perfoms as expected. Its warm, light, fits well under a shell and looks great. I liked the high stand up collar for cold weather conditions. I purchased the XL and found it sized well if not generous which for me was great. I can layer under this jacket as well. All in all a great purchase.
