Comments about Sea to Summit Traverse Xt I Sleeping Bag:
I've owned a lot of bags. I've learned a lot of things: Don't wash your bag in a machine, Give it plenty of time and space to breathe and Don't buy cheap bags. Sleep systems are truly an area of backpacking where you get what you pay for.
This bag is worth every penny. Saying it is warm isn't the way to describe it. It regulates. Its almost a live. The 850 down is great but real magic is in the shell and lining. I sleep fairly warm and I get the sweats pretty easily. This bag keeps me so comfortable. I've sent it down to about 20degrees and it performed great. I've gone up to about 58degrees and I couldn't believe how comfy it was. The lining feels like satin and the shell feels like a nylon tank. Take advantage of the full zip design (Cross open zippers to allow ventilation. It will change the way you sleep in your bag). It stuffs perfectly into its stuff sack. I cannot recommend it enough.

Comments about Sea to Summit Traverse Xt I Sleeping Bag:
I really love cross-country skiing, and have wanted to try backcountry skiing for some time now. I've always been concerned that sleeping in a hut would be too cold, or that a warm sleeping bag would be too bulky. The Traverse packs down small, but is really, really warm. The zipper is really easy to open too, even in the dark. Somehow, Sea to Summit has built in some kind of stiffener under the zipper which stops it jamming. It opens easily every time. I was so impressed, I had a friend take a picture of me opening and closing the zipper on our hut trip! And, if it does get too warm, the Traverse has a separate foot zipper which you can open - so cool!

Comments about Sea to Summit Traverse Xt I Sleeping Bag:
Wow - one of the best designed sleeping bags I have ever used. High quality down makes it deliciously poofy and warm, and the clever neck gaiter - hood design practically created an insulated hood for my head. I normally sleep with a hat on, for warmth, and it almost always comes off during the night, causing me to feel cold and wake up. It did this time as well - but it didn't matter! The generous and well-shaped "hood" kept my head toasty warm, without me having to pull the bag practically shut (reducing air intake). The neck gaiter, too, is large and poofy and sealed in the heat for my trunk and the rest of my body.
I was a little surprised when I first looked at the materials, especially the inner material, which seemed glossy. I wondered if that would be uncomfortable. It wasn't at all, and I later learnt that the material is thin but densely woven, in order to stop any pieces of down from escaping. Makes sense and didn't feel weird against my body.
I used the bag on my last backcountry hut trip here in the Rockies. The temperature in our unheated bedroom was mid 30s, and I was warm. I do feel the cold normally, so I'm not sure how much below 30 I would go with the bag, as a woman.
Zippers etc. seem fine. The bag packs down pretty small. Overall, I love it - especially how warm and poofy it appears and in fact is!

Comments about Sea to Summit Traverse Xt I Sleeping Bag:
I love this bag! It's super cozy and keeps me (a fairly cold sleeper) super toasty at night. I used it for the first time on a trip to Lake Powell and loved it! The technical aspects of the bag are amazing- the 3D NanoShell technology is impressive at managing any kind of dampness or moisture and really does perform when it comes to keeping the down from getting wet/damp. I highly recommend!!
