The flashlight itself is top quality and I use it camping and at work in the hospital. It will constrict pupils regardless of the ambient light, and is compact enough for pocket storage. While camping It's bright. The battery is convenient, and the package comes with rechargable batteries. I think they try to pump up the cost of the package by including loads of needless fluff. I did not need, nor do I think a bicycle attachment is useful. It came with several redundant attachment, some of which will undoubtably be collecting dust in my garage. The headband and the cost are where my disappointment lies. The headband comes in two pieces for you to assemble. The light attaches to one side (I prefer side mounting to forehead mounting) via a universal attachment. Presumably for balance, directly opposite is a spare battery compartment with storage for two batteries. This is bulky and unnecessary. The top part of the headband attaches rather poorly to the spare battery compartment and the light fixture. It frequently comes out. Additionally, the band tightening mechanism is dismal and doesn't stay in your preferred position when not in use, necessitating that you refit the band every time you put it on. I plan on attaching this light to a different band.

Summary: the light gets 5 stars. the band 2 stars, and the cost 3 stars. Averaging to three. I would only recommend purchasing the light to a friend, which can probably be done individually without buying all the other nonsense.

Comments about Fenix LD10 Flashlight Mega Pack:

First off, the Fenix LD10 is an outstanding flashlight. It is built super bright and feels solid without being overly bulky. Since it uses regular old AA batteries, it is easy to find a replacement if your old battery dies unexpectedly.

Some of the accessories in the mega pack are slightly redundant (do I really need the diffuser tip, the cone diffuser AND the lantern shade?), but I guess it's cool to have them all so you can choose your preference.

The one item that I'm not thrilled with is the headband. Maybe I have a misshaped head or maybe I just need to play with it more, but I can not get it to fit comfortably. The headband is the only reason that I didn't give 5 stars.

Not sure really worth the $ for the kit unless you really think you would use all the stuff. I can't see the headband really being comfortable. I returned and got the LD20 as all the light options are much brighter and it's really not that much bigger than the LD10. Plus did not feel LD10 was practical to put in a jean pocket. For a small light I'd rather have a simple high and low option like the E11 has which is much smaller.

Great flashlight to say the least. I look at dozens of others and I'm glad I decided on this one. The kit just makes it better. The only thing bad I can say is that there are some useless item with the kit such as the light softener that doesn't fit well and the extra band that comes with the headband kit. Overall a excellent light. It was just what I wanted in a light!
