Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
The case is frustrating- the zipper broke and was constantly stuck. I'm not terrible with zippers, this is just a terrible zipper.
The main con is the wet lip of the bottle. There are ways around it; of course one being the accessory camelbak makes.
(OR, MAN UP and slurp from the Earth like a Puma!!)
For how small the bottle is, you are using it a lot. And dropping the UV top or the lid in dirt is a struggle getting the threads clean- minor but annoying.
I feel like I want to dislike it because of the case, but it works, and is a favorable size for bappakin'.
Cool thing is, when I got it home I realized it fit almost all of my other bottles. Even the larger ones, *just have to zap it twice I guess.
I do like the system. And it's cool at night, (drinking the electric cool-aid) or sumpin'... future water idk.

Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
Just used this water purifier on a backpacking trip and it worked really great on Sierra Nevada mountain stream water! My only concern is that when I took the UV section out of my pack to place on the bottle battery indicator showed only half a charge to the unit. Was fully charged when I flew west so perhaps in pack transit or after half day of use unit somehow got turned on. I will try wrapping in bubble wrap on my next trip. Other than that unit was excellent and I also carried a solar recharge unit so I was never that concerned.

Use this for overnight backcountry packing in Shenandoah park. Works like a charm with no issues. UV light is a little bulky but I am no minimalist so it's a good fit for my purposes.

Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
My girlfriend and I took the All Clear on a recent self-supported bicycle trip around Myanmar (Burma) and fell in love with the bottle. We used it numerous times a day to treat the dodgiest Burmese tap water without any problems. It stayed charged for many days and we could just charge it up hooked up to a computer at an internet cafe. We often lament about the number of plastic water bottles we have to buy and discard when cycle touring in other countries, but with this water filter we had to purchase only a few bottles of water for the entire 5 month trip. One of the most inventive outdoor adventure products to hit the market in years!

I used it in a trip to South America for 16 days and did not need to buy bottle water at all.

Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
I used this water purifier bottle in the middle of the jungle in Cambodia. Getting water out of a small river.
This water bottle saves our life.
We were able to get enough water purified for 12 people with only one battery (about 17 gallons of water).
The battery on this water bottle is waterproof, I dropped the battery/bottle cap in the water and it worked fine afterward.
I will definitely recommend this product to any backpacker or adventurer that would need to get water from a natural unpurified source of water.

Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
The device is simple enough to use, and is great for what I needed it for. Yes, it can purify only 750 mL at a time, but in comparison to other UV purifiers out there, they typically only go up to 1-liter per treatment anyway, and I like the slightly smaller 750 mL bottle for traveling with.
My one big complaint about the All Clear is that there is no way to lock out the power (on/off) button on the UV cap. The power button is very easy to unintentionally activate when the UV cap is in its travel case, especially when it's being packed and transported with other gear in a backpack.
The travel case for the UV cap is a soft, thin, neoprene-like case. It holds the UV cap and the USB charging cable for the battery. The power button on the UV cap sits right on top of the cap and is very easy to unintentionally activate through the soft travel case. Anything pressing against it can turn it on.
The first concern is that the batteries can be prematurely drained without you even being aware of it, and therefore the device might not be usable when it's needed (I'm not always going to be near a USB port for charging it).
The second concern is that these repeated unintentional activations will count against the 10,000-cycle life of the device. The UV cap is programmed to stop working after 10,000 cycles. I realize that's a large number, but how many times did it activate inside my backpack without me being aware of it?
The third concern is with the heat that's given off when the UV lamp is on. It does get warm, and that heat is now trapped inside the closed travel case inside my pack, surrounded by other gear.
The batteries in the UV cap are not removable and not even accessible, and there's no way to lock out the power button from unintentional activations. If you press it, the UV lamp goes on for its 1-minute treatment, whether you want it to or not. This problem should really be addressed in order to make the All Clear a much more travel-friendly water treatment option. Outside of that, I still prefer it over the pen-style UV purifiers.

Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
I wouldn't worry about the bottle breaking.... The best feature of the All Clear is it's convenience; it treats a 750 ml bottle in 60 seconds, is highly effective, and doesn't alter taste. The battery will last up to a couple weeks (or more) on the trail - and it is internal, so you don't need to spend money on replacements. I used this for 5 months on the AT and did not have a single issue with the All Clear or water related illness. It may be a little heavier or bulkier than chemicals or a pen, but in my opinion its worth it. What can I complain about- not much, I had to buy a USB to wall adapter in order to charge it from wall outlets, and it takes awhile to charge, but I think that is a testament to the battery strength. Oh, and it looks cool at night. Very happy with this product.

Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
I picked it over the Steripen as it appeared more durable and easier to use. I paired it with the 96oz Nalgene "Cantene" though I so far have kept the bottle around that it came with in case I am out solo (rare).
Contrary to other reviewers, as an engineer I am unconcerned about not using the supplied bottle. If you understand the way the UV system works, it's going to work if properly applied to the water no matter the container.
With the large Nalgene Cantene, I go four 60 seconds rounds of UV treatment while sloshing back and forth every few seconds (just rotate across my knee). I wish it had a custom time setting so I did't have to push the button 4 times, but oh well.
Just returned from a pack trip with 3 other folk and I treated around 30 liters of water with the battery near half depleted.
Would likely give 5 stars if it had replaceable battery.

Comments about CamelBak All Clear Water Purifier Bottle:
This is an amazing product. I previously have used the Steripen but having separate parts and having to deal with batteries etc was such a pain. This unit is an all in one solution. It's quick and easy the BEST way to filter water. I would suggest you buy the pre-filter if you are going to use this in an open water source ie stream or lake. Besides that the battery last and since this comes with two caps it allows you to remove the heavier cap when you aren't treating your water. Quick and easy right out of the box! Highly recommend
