I went on a very challenging adventure - The Camino de Santiago - And when I was preparing for it and Really researched and tried many poles. I am so happy to have chosen these. Walking 700 kilometers on varied terrains such as crossing the Pyrenees was incredibly hard and I couldn't have done it without my poles. I totally trusted them...they never collapsed. they were my rocks. Kudos to my poles.

My first pair of trekking poles, I bought these for a winter hike into and out of the Grand Canyon. I was out of shape and needed all the help I could get on that very strenuous trip and trekking poles seemed like they might be a good idea.
WOW! I felt like a goddess on steroids! The Leki poles got me down and back up with a 12 mile hike on the day off in between. I don't think I could have done that trip without the poles. They made a HUGE difference! I love them.
(note: my husband bought Black Diamond poles that broke at the bottom of the Canyon)
I really like the ease of adjustability the hand straps have; my only wish is that the straps had more padding.
I would advise anyone buying poles (of ANY brand) to visit the Leki website and watch the video on how to adjust the straps. Strap adjustment and position is key to getting the most from your poles, and most people we saw on the trail were not using them correctly.
