Featuring plenty of pockets for organizing a full day's worth of gear, the REI Lookout 40 daypack is built with cushioned suspension to keep you comfortable.
- Largely made from 100% recycled PET polyester fabric, each pack keeps twenty-six 16-oz. plastic bottles out of landfills!
- Post-consumer recycled PET polyester is tough enough to endure the daily grind
- High-density polyethylene framesheet and a single aluminum stay support heavy loads and protect your back from bulky or pointy items
- Free-Flow egg crate foam back panel is designed to improve body contact comfort, with channels for air circulation to keep your back cool and dry
- Contoured, padded shoulder straps and waistbelt wrap around to offer comfortable support under pack load
- Internal sleeve accommodates a hydration reservoir of your choice (not included); dual exit ports allow drinking tube to routed on either side of pack
- Wide panel opening to main compartment gives you easy access to the contents
- Front zip compartment has pockets for stashing and organizing essentials such as money, ID, multitool and headlamp
- Twin vertical zippered side pockets provide additional storage for often-used essentials

The bag holds much more than I originally expected it too and has a lot of smaller pockets on the outside that are very useful and allow easy access to phone/keys/mp3 player that can be reached without taking off the bag. I've used it on a few hikes so far and as a carry on for a plane trip (especially since you can compress it down tightly with the straps to make it more condense to fit in the small overhead bins). It really came in handy and I love the rain shield and pocket to put a water reservoir in.
Great bag for women who have a long torso.
I haven't had it long enough to tell whether it is durable and will last a while but so far it seems like it is well made.

perfect for week long trips if you use ultra light weight equipment.
Over all great design just wish there were a few more exterior and interior pockets.
