    I was able to just set up the fly with the footprint. If you make a footprint yourself it will not work.

    For [$] I am extremely disappointed with Mountain Hardwear and this product. Do yourself a favor and save your money. I'm using my old tent's footprint instead of this material. It's construction paper!!!! It's "spun-bounded olefin", not nylon. Just make your own footprint and save the money.
