- Mummy shape is thermally efficient, yet roomy enough from shoulder to knee to ensure sleeping comfort

- Exterior chest pocket is great for stowing small necessities such as your watch, eyeglasses and lip balm, alleviating middle-of-the-night fumbling

The bag's construction is nice, and I'm happy with it, but have to disagree with the temp rating. I used it in low-humidity conditions with temp down to about +35F, and got cold even with leggings, socks, and a sweatshirt. I would recommend it, but definitely NOT as something to depend upon for keeping you warm below +40.

Bag sleeps very warm. Made it through night in Weminuche Wilderness, outside temps probably got down to about 18-19 degrees, minus few more for wind chill, inside tent around freezing. Never had any drafts or cold spots.

Bought this bag in summer of 2011. Great value for the price: lightweight bag, decent temp rating and doesn't look like a toy. Still using it for all seasons - weekend trips, summer resident camp, longer-term backpacking it's held up great. Currently using a 12L stuff sack and it packs down small. I particularly like the fabric quality inside. No snagging, zipper works well. Quite happy with the purchase.
Would recommend for anyone looking for backpacking or good quality camp gear.

I love the pocket-as-a-pillow feature because it keeps the pillow (made mine from unused gear) from sliding out of the bag.
I did have the zipper snag on the shell of the bag. After that I was more careful.
The hood tightens up nicely and I (5'11') had room to fit entirely in the bag.
Not as small as down, but fits in the bottom of my crestrail 70.
It got down to 30 degrees and with only a med. wool base layer and socks I did get cold about 2:30am. I was able to get more comfortable and back to sleep though by reducing the entrance to a small hole. Good buy!

Ive only used this bag once. It was in Florida and the temp only got down to the high 40's. But I was not cold at all. Still not sure how it would do in the 20's. It was comfortable, packs into the stuff sack easily, and I like the colors. I also like how the bag came with the stuff sack and also an REI bag. Its nice to throw it into the REI bag on site, and then compress into the stuff sack at home after Ive shaken any dirt out. The zipper does stick quite a bit. So you have to be careful. But... all REI products seem to have zipper issues so I wasnt surprised. I got the bag half off, so at less than $100, the bag is worth it. Zippers stick on a lot of bags so eh... I didnt wanna spend $200 on a sleeping bag so I can live with it. So far so good on the bag.

I bought this bag to replace my old 32 degree bag. Much better and lighter than my old bag. Like described, it compacts into 11 liters. Kept me warm on a very windy night. Stopped the 45 MPH gust excellently...
