The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Deuter Aircontact 75 + 10 Pack:
Winter multi-night wilderness excursions.
For a very few extra ounces get the 3 access methods on this pack and the extra lashing points.
This is my 2nd Deuter. Compared to a very large Gregory pack this is so much more comfortable. The adjustment points are excellent and the hip belt is very comfortable. The map pocket is a great addition. This is a sleek small horizontal profile pack. Making it easier to balance and control. fitting a -40 Marmot bag and all my solo gear was no problem. I had room to spare. I am especially impressed by the back cushions that allow my back to breathe. The 3 aluminium stays give the pack the stability needed in dicey situations that require finese in balancing. I think this will become my all year round backpack.

After trying on multiple packs at the rei store I landed on this one. It had all the bells and whistles, and was very comfortable. After using this to backpack around Indonesia I would deffinatly recommend this pack.

Comments about Deuter Aircontact 75 + 10 Pack:
This pack is awesome! I haven't actually taken it on the trail yet, but it went around and up and down an aircraft carrier. Thats more strenuous than some trails. The hip is well padded and even when loaded down with a ton of stuff it didn't feel like was really carrying anything. i love the seperated sleeping bag compartment and how the middle opens up. it makes getting to things much easier without completely unloading and packing is quick and easy and makes it even easier to put items exactly where you want them. it is very durable. it got picked up with a full load by places it probably shouldn't have been picked up by and got thrown around plenty and nothing broke. i'm going on a 3 day, 20 mile trip soon and that will be the next test for it. so far i can't say anything bad about it.

Comments about Deuter Aircontact 75 + 10 Pack:
First off, I'm in my mid-40's and a big guy. Apparently there aren't an overwhelming number of us out there because after a lot of looking, I pretty much resigned myself to having to spend a chunk on a custom made pack. Then I stumbled across the Dueter. The specs indicated that it "should" fit me and the price was low enough (compared to the custom pack I was considering) to put REI to their 100% satisfaction guarantee. My first impression is very positive.
1) Fit: Adjusting the torso lenght. No sweat.
Waist belt: Plenty of room. The spec said 50 inches. I didn't measure but it's every inch of that.
Shoulder Straps: A previous post said they needed to be longer, they fit me fine but we're all shaped differently.
Load lifters: They're adjustable (vertically) as well.
With the waist belt cinched and everything else snug it feels like a lumbar pack.
2) General comfort: There's plenty of mesh covered foam padding in the straps and back pad.
3) Volume: 85 liters internal plus what you lash to the outside. I fit a king size fleece blanket, 2 "woobies", 2 50"x80" fleece throws (one rolled one loose), and a GI isssue wool blanket in it and there was still room for more.
4) External: The "daisy chain" on the zippered access panel feels sturdy enough and the zipper is pretty beefy. Short of just plain overloading it I don't expect a problem there. Personally I'm more worried about the "daisy chain" straps but time will tell and I'm really looking forward to load testing it for real.

Comments about Deuter Aircontact 75 + 10 Pack:
I'm a 350lb man that was in need of an upgrade to my pack. I tried on many but this one actually had a hip belt that went around my waist. I have already used it once and loved it. The storage is great and the compression straps keep things from shifting during travel. I would have liked to see the sholder harness be a little larger but it works. I can typically carry a full pack for myself and two kids.
