    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

    Deuter Aircontact 65 + 10 Packis rated4.5out of5by6.
Rated4out of5byfromBig Ole BagFirst inaugural trip for this bag was on the Black Forest Trail, located in the Tiadaghton State Forest in PA, 42 mile loop with several 1000ft peaks and valleys and 17 stream crossings. Overall, the bag held out great. Utilized the rain fly that came with the bag for two of the four days of the trip- very fortunate to have that feature. Bag held a lot of equipment and food - didn't even need to utilize the extra 10 liters. The zippered flap on the outside midsection made for great easy access when trying to get to my large gorp bag during breaks. Zippered pocket on belt was somewhat useful to carry a protein bar and camera phone. However, could have easily not used the extra zippered belt pocket - which tended to stick every now and then and used only the two side pockets instead. Maybe not the most ideal pack for a hike of this difficulty because of the weight, but definitely good for those extra long and slow backpacking trips. The easy adjustable shoulder harness was amazing, considering I lowered the the shoulder strap one rung after the first day of hiking. Made all the difference in comfort. One disappointment/flaw in the design was the top sack. It was not detachable and additionally would not snug securely around the frame when tightened. Granted, if the entire backpack had more cargo, this would not be an issue, but by the end of the trip the top sack tended to slide down the pack when tightened and did not stay at the top as intended. Still able to get a tight fit, just not the ideal tight fit balancing the weight at the top of the sack. Would definitely buy this bag again, but maybe not for this particular hike with so many sharp inclines. Seeing as this is my second 40+ mile hike, I'm beginning to understand the draw toward minimalism.

Rated5out of5byfromComfortable, Tough PackI had to write a review since several reviewers apparently haven't bothered to figure out how pack works before posting reviews. Either that or they posted reviews for a different pack. There is no missing rain cover. The raincover on the AirContact 65+10 is integral to the pack and is permanently tethered to it. On the very bottom of the back is a zipper. Open the zipper and out comes the raincover. Great pack, if slightly on the heavy side. However, it will still be doing hauling duty 15 years from now when most lightweight packs are in landfills. If you're carrying over 40 lbs. for whatever reason, this pack is a great choice. It is exceedingly comfortable.

Rated5out of5byfromMoney well spentHad this pack out on its maiden voyage in Utah for spring break. It was very comfortable with about 25-30 pounds in it. I had room for all of my bedding, shelter, and clothes, along with all of the essential trinkets and more. Very adjustable, took a day to get it where I wanted it, but once there, the next three days were great. I got this one as a gift. Admittedly I am a tight-wad with my money and probably would not have purchased it for my self. However, my wife got it for me as a Christmas present, and it was worth every penny, plus a couple more. Very roomy, comfortable pack. I would recommend it to anyone. Only downside in my opinion is the weight of the pack. That said, this baby makes up for the extra weight in carrying capacity, durability, and comfort (thus I take no stars for this). If ever I needed another pack, I would buy this one again my self.

Rated5out of5byfromDeuter Aircontact 65 +10Not much else to say that hasn't been covered, but I will say that this pack is AWESOME!! I have quite a pack collection, but stubbornly clung to my beloved ALICE. Finally, the left shoulder envelope ripped, and I had to retire it. Saw this pack in-store and was instantly attracted to it. Sleeker design than I am used to,a lot of internal/ external space and easily adjusting waistband. Lumbar support that is not punishing, as I have an auto injury that affects my lower back, neck and shoulders.Tried on, and was surprised at how easily I was able to adjust everything to fit my body! I also like the sleeping bag pocket at the bottom. Very convenient and do not worry about snagging and tearing. Recently "broke" it in on a 3-day outting to the 'Hood, and even with all the gear, I still had plenty of space, should I have needed it. Performed flawlessly...look forward to hopefully being able to punish it in B.C. next year!

Rated4out of5byfromGood bagNice bag that I got on sale plus a coupon (always wait for sales). I travel light but the size of this allows for bulk and I appreciate that. I really appreciate the suspension system as it rides well on my hips with very little weight on my shoulders and it balances really well. I like the narrowness of the bag as it keeps me from getting caught up on bushes and branches along the trail and the hydration compartment held my 3 liter bladder well. My only reason for four stars is that I had to buy a rain cover because it didn't come with it; kind of a cheap trick.

Rated4out of5byfromQuality comfortable packI have used this pack many times over the past 3 years. I am always pleased with the comfort that this pack provides. I have no aches, pains or other issues from the pack, just those from my advancing age. This pack has been a godsend for me to get back into backpacking after taking off for 25 years. The small waist pocket is of limited use, but perfectly fits my digital camera. The pack is widely adjustable and I find I can really cinch the load tight to my body for traversing rough terrain. The capacity, layout and access is very good. I wish the top cover was detachable for peak bagging.
