For downsizing packs to a more minimalist/ultra-light day hiking, the Axios 25 meets every expectation I had and now continues to be my favorite lightweight day pack for hiking.
It is important--due to the small size of the pack--to measure your back and verify if a regular or tall will fit better (proper placement of the hipbelt). The tall, much to the benefit for those of us with longer torsos, also provides 2 extra liters of capacity as well.
The two main compartments and easy-to-use zippers (small but continuing to hold up to abuse) are perfect for separating basic components (gear/layers in one, food/liquids the other).
Maximum load seems to be about 10 pounds.
