Comments about Keen Targhee II Trail Shoes - Men's - 2011 Closeout:
I have another pair of very similar Keen shoes (I think the soles are identical) that have served me well for about 2 years. When these showed up at the REI Outlet site, I ordered a pair in the exact same size (10.5), but they are too small/tight. I thought they were a bit snug when I picked them up and tried them on at the local REI store, but they seemed to be no different, size-wise, than my old pair so I thought I'd give them a bit of a break-in period. I wore them to a local indoor craft fair today and after about and hour of walking around, I knew these had to go back. They are just too darn small. I think it may have to do with the fact that the upper part of the shoe is thicker and stiffer than my old ones. I was going to order another pair 1/2 size up, but I see that the special promotion is over and they are more expensive now, so I'll see.
I also did notice a bit of heel-slop as mentioned by another reviewer here, but I probably could live with that.
Overall a nice shoe in most respects; good for everyday wear and have enough support for light hiking trails. If I had a pair that fit better, I think I'd be happy.

Comments about Keen Targhee II Trail Shoes - Men's - 2011 Closeout:
I bought the exact same pair/model in March of 2011. Thinking these would fit the same.. they don't. The heels of both my feet slip out while walking. I compared my old pair to the new pair and it's obvious that they changed the curvature of the heel portion of the shoe. The rear heel counter in the new pair look to be straight up/down while my old pair (they fit perfect) have a curvature to cup the heel. I am bummed so will have to return.
I called REI and they claimed they are the same model name BUT they have different model numbers hence they changed the construction sometime in 2011.
