Lasted 6 months. It is the first shoe my son has which did not wear through the sole or fall apart anywhere else.

Unfortunately the weak spot is the lacing system. Not only did the laces break but the eyes broke too so they couldn't be rescued with new laces.

In general, I've had poor experiences with kids shoes that don't have proper laces. Why do manufacturers pander to parents and kids laziness to deal with tying laces? My other son's Adidas shoes, also bought from REI, are holding up much better.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    My son and I love these shoes but unfortunately, the lace broke on one followed by the eyelet breaking on the other shoe, way before he outgrew them. They lasted about 6 weeks. For the money we spent on them I was so very disappointed.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
