Comments about Arc'teryx Raider Pants - Men's 33" Inseam:
I have a 2010 version of these pants that DO HAVE NINE pockets. I just opened my package from REI with the 2012 Raider pants and they only have 6 pockets! No rear pockets like my old Raider pants. When I did a side by side comparison of the two pants I also noticed a cheeper zipper on the new ones, the zipper does not even go all the way up. the last 1/2 inch is left unzipped. The stitching is cheeper than the older version if you turn both pants inside-out you find numerous tag ends of thread and cheeper looking doubled over stitching on the new 2012 version. The fabric on the old ones is much better 70% cotton 30% nylon. The new ones have 68% cotton 32% nylon too light weight looking. Hold them up to a light source and you can see right through them. The old ones were made in Thailand and they are made better period. The new ones are made in Bangladesh. I just notice that the interior pocketing material on the new ones is a cheeper material than the 68/32 cotton nylon blend the pants are made from. The interior pocketing material on the old style is the same quality material 70/30 cotton nylon blend that the entire pants are made from. I see the cost cutting lower quality on these newer pants and they cost the same as the old ones. Look at these newer products closely. They need to continue to stand apart in the quality of their products. People will pay more but only if the quality is there like it has been in the past. My old Raider pants will last for years. The new ones are going back to REI. Thanks ,
Gary
