    So far, I haven't tested the bag below 37 degree, but I was extremely comfortable in the Serrana at that temperature in the California redwoods -- far more so than my travel companion. The bag is fluffier than I expected, but it adds to the comfort and coziness. The extra warmth in the toe box is a bonus, and I was suprised at how much I liked the neck collar. I dislike being cold but I hate feeling confined more; fortunately, this sleeping bag gives me warmth and a proper fit without the sensation of confinement.

    One drawback: The bag does pack down surprisingly well given its starting fluffiness, but it did take up more room than I was expecting in my pack. It also feels a bit heavier than the specs indicate.

    Oh, and another drawback: the zipper isn't that easy to close from the inside of the bag -- at least on the bag I received.

      Got this for my wife, who sleeps cold. The nightly hot water bottle ritual was annoying and took too long, so we decided to invest in a quality down bag.

      It's great. First use was an 11 day bike camping trip on a tandem. She was warm every night -- though it was July and not particularly cold. Using a compression sack, it was small enough to fit into our very limited cargo space.

      More recently we spent a night in Northern Wisconsin. It got down to a bone chattering (for my wife, anyway) 28 degrees. To both our amazement, she was more than toasty. It was awesome.

      This is a great bag for those temperatures around freezing. We bought this for my wife to take backpacking and we tested it out on a 35F night immediately after receiving it.

      The Serrana bag kept my wife "nice and toasty warm" all night. In fact, she had to open it up some to keep from getting too warm. This makes sense as the bag is rated to 19F for women.

      The drawbacks on this sleeping bag are slight down leakage (a couple of feathers) and its stuff sack size. The REI website spec states 8.9 liters. It definitely is not 8.9 liters, it is more like 18 to 20 liters. To get the volume of a liter, it is radius (half diameter) times height. So we have 4.5 x 20 which is 1272 cubic inches or about 20 liters. Take that into consideration if you're planning to pack this sleeping bag into any backpack.

          My wife is usually very cold when we go camping (tent and/or trailer). Not anymore. This bag was perfect and she had a week's worth of great, warm sleep. The bag is so good we're buying another for our daughter. I also love that it rolls up so small (great for storing).
