The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
We have used this pack for several different things and it really can be used from anything to going around the grocery store to a good three day hike. We have done several day hikes with my daughter whom weighs around 20 pounds. Fully loaded with supplies for her and us, I think the total weight was around 35 pounds which probably seams like a lot but we was able to carry everything we needed. I was in the service for 11 years and I think this is a much more comfortable pack. The zippers are a little tough but durable. Make sure you understand how to set up the pack for your body type. I ended up going to Osprey's website to figure out everything. The instructions that come with the pack are a little vague in comparison. If you use it for anything but for a hike, make sure you collapse the kick stand or you will end up hitting everything as you turn. My daughter really enjoys being able to look around while we are on hikes and has seamed to be really comfortable.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
as i said above the only fault i can see is that the raincover allows drips down your neck and can knock on the back of your head.maybe as i adjust the carrier to get the perfect posistion this may not happen.but i stay in scotland and it never rains here so shouldnt matter.the sun shade has a fail in the stitching but im sure shop i bought it from will replace this.only carrier that comes close to this is a deuter carrier but has less storage.also not a big problem but if hip belt pockets came just a little further to the front access would be easier.small niggles great carrier worth every penny.i put a lot of time veiwing other carriers in shops not just online this is the one to buy.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
I bought the Poco Premium last year with my refund and my daughter just turned 1. She was able to fit in it last summer, but it was to hot out to really use it. Since the fall I have taken her to the zoo and walked all over town with her in it (even around the house some). The built in sun shade is great. Her feet are right at the stirrups as of today. It is very adjustable and comfortable for me and my kiddo. She falls asleep in it all the time, and today kept crawling over to it and playing with it.
I will be taking her on her first camping trip this weekend and I can't wait to get her out in it. If my wife can carry the extra gear, we should be able to go backpacking with her soon. Osprey got it right with this pack.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
Great pack. It's a little heavy, however, I think for its size, if it were lighter, then quality would be sacrificed. Only issue I had with it was at first when I would carry my gun on hip (on my pants belt) the hipbelt of the backpack was a little uncomfortable in that location (my other carrier a Kelty never was uncomfortable when carrying a gun), well come to find out, the hipbelt on the osprey has internal extenders that I hadn't pulled out. As soon as I did that, it had great comfort. There is an enormous amount of gear space in this pack. It's easy to use. It's comfortable for both the child and the adult. Definitely recommend. Great for older children(toddlers). Especially since they usually walk part of the time too!

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
My parents bought this for me on Christmas, my son was barley 4 months and it is recommended that you don't go on hikes until your baby sits up right or is at least 6 moths old. I have been using it to go around the house to get him used to it and he loves it. For those people that say that their kid doesn't like backpacks, I would recommend you start by putting them in the pack a few min at a time.
We made the mistake of spoiling my boy to be carried all the time so he likes to be up and to be taken everywhere. It has helped me to be able to do chores around the house or even change while he is in the backpack. It is adjustable so I was able to make it a tighter fit, so he won't be wobbling all over the place. He will be 6 months in 4 more weeks and I can't wait to take him out. He feels very light in this backpack because it distributes the weight evenly using the waist clips.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
We were given a cheap carrier that had "only been used once" by my wife's friend and it was obvious why, uncomfortable and poorly designed.
The Poco is the polar opposite comfortable for father and son with plenty of storage and most importantly space for a hydration bladder.
Furthest hike so far is up and down Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park with no issues.
My son finds it so comfortable he sometimes likes to sit in it when we're at home!

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
I have taken the carrier out for a couple of walks of varying distances. Its super comfortable and keeps my daughter at a good height where she can see things, but isn't so much taller than me that I worry about walking her into low branches, etc.
I added the optional hydration pack from the start and is perfect for both my daughter and I to drink from, she doesn't want her own bottle, she wants the hydration tube.....
There are times when the sunshade comes in the way, and can hit you on the back of the head, but minor adjustments quickly resolve this.
An all-round great product with plenty of space for foul weather gear for my wife and me, the rain cover for the pack and food, clothes, etc you need when taking your toddler for a hike.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
First let me say I am a huge Osprey fan. So when the child carrier came out I had to get it. My 2 year old daughter weighs 30 pounds and is slightly above average height for her age. First test I put her in it and walked around the neighborhood for almost an hour. No issues and weight transfer was good. She loved being in it. I then decided to take it on a hike. Hike ended up being 12 miles round trip and took up the entire day. Half of that was up and down steep hills.
Loaded up with water (4 liters), food, diaper bag items, and extra clothes the pack weighed 45 pounds. Keep in mind this was for the entire day hiking in coast regions.
Walking on flat/semi flat ground was comfortable but once steep hills were invovled (going up and down) there are some issues. There is weight transfer to the hips but not as well as other packs that have isoform/bioform hip belts. At some point the metal frame stand began to dig into my upper buttocks. I tried to make adjustments but results were the same. The hydration sleeve is there but a full 3 liter ladder will push against the child seat. This left less room for my daughter thus making it uncomfortable for her. I removed it from the back sleeve and put in the backpack feature behind my daughter.
I realize this was an extreme use of the pack and hopefully no one will emulate such use. For walking around town on flat to semi flat terrain it works great. Just stay away from steep hills in hot weather.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
We use this product for our 2 year old. He loves being in it. The stirups keep his feet from going numb & the seat position is easily changed to make it more comfortable. The backpack position is also adjustable so my husband & I can take turns carrying it comfortably. We are both very comfortable carrying it(we are also in the military & used to carrying a large pack). It has a sunshade which comes in real handy for the little one. We have used it for 3-6 mile hikes that have had some pretty challenging terrain (from slick snow @ Glacier National Park to rocky beaches in WA. It has lots of room for snacks & diapers & a change of clothes. It even has room to store a camelback. It also had enough room so that the little one could fall asleep with his favorite blanket & stuffed toy. As we were hiking several commented on it & others who had carriers as well stopped us to ask us what kind it was & how we liked it.
We love it!
My only complaint is the price, but after looking @ several carriers this one had everything I wanted & seemed to be the best quality.

Comments about Osprey Poco Premium Child Carrier:
We purchased this carrier for our two year old son. We knew we would be doing a lot of walking and with five other children we needed a way to carry our child safely when he was done walking. We put this product through its paces and it has earned every star! In the two months we have had it we have used it at over six National Parks and 4 Museums/Zoos. This product is so well designed that I was able to climb around Pueblo Bonito and Choco Canyon Indian ruins. It went with us on the buses at Grand Canyon National Park as well as on the hikes. One of my many favorite features is the mini day pack that unzips from the main carrier for minor excursions. This made a convenient diaper bag. Plenty of room for all my children's water bottles and snacks. I only wish we had this with our first child!
